New Year Resolutions

Post by weedguru_animal » Sun Jan 13, 2013 10:24 am

Whilst I place little value in the idea of new year resolutions, and steadfastly stick to a conclusion that when Change is needed, forced, it will happen, regardless of the time of year. Nevertheless, I seem to have found a prod of sorts, since the turn of the year, to follow several of my own passions and possible paths with more zeal than for many months. Such as my Writing...Reviews have been coming thick and fast, a newfound creche for my wordsmithery. But rather than turn this thread into a lengthy rant of Self, I wish to ask others...did you make any resolutions??? Was 2012 a year to forget or remember forever fondly and with a sparkle of the eye???

This is the first resolution i've made in years. I stopped making them, because no one has ever kept them. But this one isn't too hard and i've been wanting to implement it for a while.
Gonna get myself a planner. That's it. A little book to plan practically everything, from work, study, exercise, socialise, read etc. I already do all of these things, so that's not the problem but I only ever do them when i feel like it, or if. So really, my new years resolution is to have more focus, but by just telling myself it's just to use a planner, it doesn't sound as daunting.
Gonna smoke a lot less. I need more focus. This year is gonna be important. As for last, 2012 has been amazing. One of the best, a lot of 'firsts' happened in that year, first nephew, first trip abroad... all in all amazing. Can't wait for this one.

Too bad I only noticed this thread now as much of what I wrote in the weather thread could actually be applicable to this thread! I did not necessarily make any resolutions, but after a December full of alcohol and weed consumption, I seemed to have certainly turned the corner in terms of cutting alcohol almost completely out of my life other than when celebrating a specific event, as well as having reduced my consumption of weed. I know these are probably the most typical answers one could possibly think of, along with "working out more", but I wouldn't necessarily consider them to have happened because of a "New Years Resolution" of sorts... They more sort of happened (like you mentioned in the original post)... because they had to.
I saw on TV today, this man lost his son, his son died...
So he had him cremated, took his ashes, and then made it into a Diamond ring...
Now he watches his son shine every day.
I just thought about that, while I sit here ashing in this ashtray...

Well, that planner lasted two whole months before being tossed in the bin.

This year's goal is to be able to perform the splits.
