Ungodly guitar solos

Post by JTP » Sat May 19, 2012 8:21 am

Personally, I've constantly been amazed time and time again by Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age. Guy rocks that guitar like he was born with one in hand and is one of few musicians I know of with a history of playing better live than in studio (naturally, this is only my opinion). My #1 inspiration as a guitarist.

Sorry for the rant; I'll just blame the psychedelics. On with the thread!

Solo's at 5:30 to 9:xx-ish.

On a related, but off-topic note, anyone know of any long, spaced-out improv jams like this?

well, the grateful dead were known for their endless jamming on shows, and Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia were both, uhm, aquainted with the electric guitar

My favorite musician right now is Jack White...just saw him Friday night at Hangout Fest and he tore the fucking place down..i'll try to find some videos from that show because no 2 solos are ever the same, in the meantime here's this:

Heres the start of the show, if you go to youtube you can watch the rest of it on there

Kirk Hammett (Metallica) - One

Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) - Domination

They are my favourite 2 solos of all time.
Death is the only certainty. EVERYTHING else is variable.
