Cecil Otter- Rebel Yellow Original

Its like discovering some kinda amazing sight in a forest seldom visited, a sight, an experience so beautiful and intensified in its beauty from its natural freshness and rareness, that you first want to share it with the world, and then, a sensation of 'its such a lovely thing that if I am a discoverer of sorts, I dont want to spread its wondrous energy to anyone but those i love and respect, for why do the others deserve it?'.

I have only come across Mr Otter, via the epicentre of Sage Francis online (http://www.strangefamousrecords.com/), in the last 24 hours...and I hugely, deeply enjoyed the track which felt like a rare and special fusion between amazing poetry and perfect beats, which was the following>>>

Cecil Otter - Let me tell you

Yes. This is something incredible. Regardless of the rest of his efforts, to have made that kinda mark, on the stoned, drunk, but still ever critical Daniel, ever seeking a kink in the armour, a wolf's fang behind the bambi smile, is...and must be held up high above my head, in the clouds as...fucking magnificent. I'd go as far as to say that other than the much older generations, I'd find it hard to like a person if they didnt take something amazing from this song.

And then there is this>

Cecil Otter - Blacklist

Tribal minimalism, solid lyrics hitting the crests of the beat waves well enough to take away the lack of meaning/value in the poetry. It sounds wicked regardless. Especially when played loud and proud, through a quality amp and speakers marraige, and you have smoked a joint or five, drunk a fair few vodkas, engaged in odd political tete-a-tete with my stoned savaged queen, and now drinking...drinking...swaying in my chair as Cecil tears down my earphones at playful, too smart for any school, rpm vocal delivery speeds.

Cecil Otter - A Rickety Bridge

As good, if not better, than everything I have heard for the last few months. It could well demand a position far higher in my long term estimation, but the chorus repetition proves bothersome...still. A quality track.

Cecil Otter - 1999 **OFFICIAL VIDEO**

The beats are dark, sinister and pounding. An atavistic assault on the senses, Ghengis Khan style.

Cecil Otter - Chicken Or The Egg

He is inspiring me...and as I not just hear, but feel the gorgeous collision of words and beats, to start developing my first novel. It needs to be world class wordsmithery, of course, but as for the format, i've been constantly pulled towards, by a lunatic inertia, to a passage in Naked Lunch..my hybrid will be to hit the reader full on with a maelstrom of reality's savagery, mainly words, interspersed with points in the nowhere near a straight narrative, where the reader must listen t a tune, take in the feeling it gives them, which adds to the pages...that's my plan.
