I asked a math question here about my daughter's grade 5 math a few years ago, and got 4 different answers! Never did find out what the right answer was either.

Math is the purest science there is. Math, physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, social sciences. That is the order at least in my opinion.

It's really more of a continuum than something to be divided up at such sharp edges. I mean there's biochemistry and biophysics and physical chemistry etc.

Yeah I'm leaning towards a 70$, 50$ and 20$ split... seem like pretty round numbers.

The way I see it, Mr. D should pay at least half. The rest all depends on things that aren't math... Whether or not they actually used the gas or not, whether or not they were guests, etc. I think 70$ may even be a low number just because it seems as though it's Mr. D's place since he was there longest...

What constitutes using the gas? I assume the gas is used for heating, water heating, and maybe cooking. The first two, well everyone is using at any given time. If you use gas to cook and they don't, then you should be paying even more, unless they eat your food. But yea I think this puzzle has been pretty much resolved-ish?

I have another conundrum of the lowest order, for you math buffs to attack with zeal and hopefully resolve rather quickly, for my records suggest, as does the snail ridden mailbox, and repeated text reminders on my phone...that I am somewhat overdue. And this bill is a monster, fucking $522.06 electricity. So...lets proceed eh???

Total Period 89 days.

For 89 days Mr D and Miss S were living in the premises. For 41 days Mr Z was ALSO living in the premises. ( to make as clear as possible: S +D for the total period of 89 days, with Z in attendance for 41 of those dark, hellish days)

Any ideas? I'm stumped already and haven't even yet hit SUBMIT...although the word SUBMIT suddenly seems very appropriate.
