Halfway through " Pushing Ice" by alistair Reynolds, loving his work so far.
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

I am 129 pages into...The destinies of Darcy Dancer, Gentleman. And whilst it proved, initially, heavy going, i see that as simply a need for ME, as a reader, as a student of such glorious literature, to change what i am open to hear, in terms of the audibles within, presented and inspiried, by such a tome...for now, it seems wicked, expect a review to follow.

the hemingway book was OK...nothing special, but none of it badly written...i finished off Burroughs' Wild Boys, and then finally returned for a second attempt at Euripides...i enjoyed Phonecian Women, and am no deeply into Orestes. Nothing I have yet read compares to his beautiful Medea.

I purchased 6 books recently via amazon...forgot as many others do, to head there through a weedguru link, so as to help support the sire, but nevermind eh!...all of my books have arrived, and i am now, intentionally slowly, devouring the second letters collection of Bukowski.

As my spirit is dark, and my heart sullen, Bukowski has proven too much for me, too enticing of an end to all that is Life...And so, I have now moved onto Manfredi's beautifully worded TYRANT...61 pages IN, and loving every page.

The Great Shark Hunt again.

I think my favorite passage is when H.S.T and Mr. Steadman take part in the Kentucky Derby, something I could see myself and Animal replicating at a moments notice.

Deep into Montaigne- the essays. Some hard going, swamp like, but now the chapters and shorter and more potent, I am enjoying the ancient frog;s wordsmithery.
