Yes. You should be able to grow about 6 plants with that much light.

Yes but you can't put it into a regular light bulb socket in your house...you'll need to buy a ballast. You can get kits from ebay to sun micro online stores.

o really that sucks I dont know if I want to deal with a ballast. What is a good light bulb that I can use with a regular house socket that will grow 2-4 plants?

Compact fluorescents are your best bet.

i was reading that the cheaper low wattage bulbs give you taller, skinnier plants with a smaller yield than if you used a HPS bulb. I want the most I can get since I will only have a couple plants. Should I get a ballast and deal with all that?

the ballast should make no noise what so ever

and 3 cpu fans for what? intake or extraction?

intake (sucking air in to your grow space) yes you could use them but maybe more than just 3

for extraction i would not bother

also if i have a socket that can hold a 250 watt bulb does that mean that it can use a 250 watt HPS bulb with no ballast or do I still need the ballast?
