Lets get into this....yeah.

PC is a better development platform for games and pushes the boundaries of gaming and graphical tech. But for playing of games, why would you want to sit in a computer chair and look at a monitor with a keyboard and mouse when you can sit on a couch and watch a huge HDTV with a controller? Sure you could hook up your computer to run through your TV....but do you?

How many buttons does a controller have? I count 14 usable buttons on my 360 controller. The keyboard/mouse is superior to a controller for mass manipulation. Plus with PC you can dig into your game files and mod and what not...Oh and my graphics card/fancy monitor will always look better than my 360 on a big HDTV.

Personally, I prefer to play FPS and sports games on console, because I think the controller manipulation feels more fluid.
RPGs and action games, PC all the way.





P.S. my computer chair is pretty damn comfy

ps, I already have my computer hooked up to my big screen television. and that's not a very good argument, because you sit so far away, that a good computer monitor is way better, in my opinion, as for the chair thing, buy a proper chair you cheapskate

I have a comfy chair but a much comfier couch and I can lie down on it. I have a 50" television and don't sit THAT far away, not that it matters cause its freakin huge.

that's why I used to lay on a realllly comfy, like REALLY comfy chair, and have something where I could whip my legs up on to. Laying down, facing the TV = the laziest/most comfortable way to play a video game. Hell, I even did it with computer games too

I'm not talking about what platform is better, the PC will always lead that race, it's just the developers that see more money in console development than PC development which leads to crappy second rate ports - which I loathe.

But the only games I play on the PC are shooters and RTS-games.

I can't for example imagine playing an RPG like Oblivion/Skyrim or even Dead Island on a PC.

It's way more relaxed to just sit back in a comfy chair and play with a controller rather than sit at your desk playing with the mouse and keyboard.

Ergonomically it's more pleasant to play on a console, unfortunately consoles will never be as powerful as the quick to adapt PC platform is and thus you'll have to give in on quality a bit, but for most games that difference in quality is indistinguishable due to the fact that 90% of the games developed these days are developed for consoles first and ported to PC later.


Battlefield 3 however shows vast difference between the consoles and the PC and so did a range of games, Crysis 2 included.

So I bought those on PC because they were worth it.


There is no question that the PC will be the most powerful platform for all of eternity - a PC can be upgraded rather quickly and the cost -depending on what you upgrade- won't be as high as buying a new console .

If your hardware is under par just upgrade your graphics card/ add more memory etc. You have to wait for the manufacturer of your console to come up with a new - pricey!- version before you can start playing games that demand more resources.

I played Morrowind on PC, and Oblivion on 360 (because i got a good deal on it)

I'll just say I'm definitely getting Skyrim for PC, games with such great mod support shouldn't be on console

The only game genre that is without a doubt superior on the PC is strategy games... although there have been good/decent RTS games on consoles... I don't think anyone would doubt that PC is ALWAYS better. Everything else is debatable, but I prefer playing all my games on the PC due to moddability, the fact that PC hardware can exceed it's console counterparts and play games more smoothly/with better graphics, and even things like servers for online games are better on PC.

The console does have an advantage though since all games on consoles are made to work with its specific hardware, whereas on PC gamers often have to upgrade their hardware to work with specific games (and ultimately for a good gaming rig capable of playing newest games the best way they were made are far more expensive than consoles).

Comfort with couches and all that can be a factor... but hasn't been one for me, I'm used to sitting my ass on the computer chair all day. Also, you can have friends over and play consoles but it's not as easy to do that with PC unless you have a homie bring over his rig and you play on LAN or some shit.
