Look before anyone says this has been done before i would like it if this was left open as i want answers to my specific questions to make sure i get the best out of my time there. Also i think it would be another good discussion from people who havent previously contributed.
So what i want to know and what you need to know:
Going between December 15th and January 5th - what sort of prices should i be looking at for flights? Best i've found is about 50-60 quid , i think thats reasonable but wouldn't reject anything cheaper.
Don't care where we stay - what previous accommodation have you used? Don't care if its a hostel or hotel just looking for somewhere reasonable and clean to stay, cheap = good! Also if theres any extras for smoking e.g. the people are cool or theres a good spot to smoke outside i wan't to know that aswell.
Places to go - not realy interested in the heritage but anywhere worth visiting while blazed is appeciated, even if theres no attraction its just somehwere cool to be.
Weed and prices - the main reason i'm going is to smoke bud obviously so i want to know what the average prices are for standard bud like good stuff we have in the uk and the prices for the pukka stuff. While we are on the subject if you know where the best places to go this year are or the best way to find out who has the best hash/skunk at the time i'm there i would also like to know that.
Drinking - also would like to know where there are a few places that we can get a) a cheap drink b) maybe more expensive drink but a nicer place, any previous experiences here would also be helpful.
Well i'm done now, hope this starts a good discussion.

correct me if im wrong Funk
the best way to get around is by cycle...but you have to keep the damn thing locked up tight cos they get stolen real fast..
what else..the canals are like open sewers...
you CANT toke anywhere you want to..you have to smoke in designated areas (coffeeshops) or at home..
there's this one place..im forgetting the name..i think its called Rembrantspleitskein or something like that ..which is suposed to pretty trippy as well..
and i think the cheapest place to stay is the Red Light district...but i could be wrong on that one

A bike is ideal to get around town, theres a bunch of places that rent bikes for a small price. They come with a bike lock too so you won't have to worry about getting it stolen. But if you're going on a shop spree, you won't need it, as you'll be too fucked up to be riding a bike around town.
There's also some youth hostels in Amsterdam, with cheap rooms, ideal if you're staying for a couple days.
Here is a guide to Amsterdam coffeeshops:

I can recommend Rokerij II, Dampkring, Tweede Kamer and Grey Area, which is run by some Americans. The place is tiny, but if you can manage to get in, you're in for some of the best weed on the face of the earth. And they have bongs!
