this is an eassay written by henry david thoreau, a great author who lived his life adhering to a code of his own principles even if that meant doing time. the essay is his view on the role that government should play in the lives of people. i read it while sitting out on my balcony smoking a joint and drinking some tea. i was amazed the way he summed up the role of government.
