I have always liked Cage, mainly due to his voice and face, rather than his acting abilities, although...Leaving Las Vegas and Con Air, remain classic to me, and always will do. I was excited about this one, which is a shame, because while the concept and effects were both wonderful, the script was appalling, and I was left, as the credits rolled down, feeling like a great chance had been wasted...a great chance to do something special.

The plot is based upon Cage and his young son stumbling upon a document written many years before, which calculated, major traumas to humanity from the tim of writing to the Present and near Future. We are talking now of a future ALREADY written, which seems magical to me, and possible, though unlikely. Cage is prone to intensity, perhaps, as we are led to believe, due to the death of his wife, but more could have been done to show him before he became widowed. There is too much sickly sweet bullshit. 'you, me, together, forever'...but still, Cage did make me feel something, but maybe that is due to the connection built up in previous thespian outings.

Overall...a chance wasted, to truly make the viewer ponder not only the existence we know upon Earth, but on a much wider, unfathomably powerful scale.

At first i had thought this was Nicolas Cage's earlier film in which he can see a few minutes into the future, and used that to do some crazy shit.. ive been looking for a movie to watch and i completely forgot about this one, ever since i first watched a trailer ive wanted to see this.. woot.
