I have long been a fan of Di Caprio, partly due to his acting, but mainly because he looks like a clean-cut version of a brotherly lad I grew up with, who was a fucking psycho, but had his heart in the Right Place. You know the type I mean, im sure, a kid, a man, who works on a very simple, unshakeable base of morals and ethics, who would go to war with ANYONE close to him who was wronged...With Russel Crowe for support, who I am NOT a fan off, in terms of mixing my consideration of his acting prowess with what I know and perceive of him, as a man, Body of Lies, is an attempt, to not only dispel the unforunately widespread notion of 'the US completely fucked up Iraq, turned into a blood bath, sent its industries back 50 years...because...Saddam had, or was trying to acquire, weapons of mass destruction', but also to offer an insight into the true nature of the CIA...an organization which has a history completely in line, with any terrorist organization you can think of. An organization who specializes in government overthrows, arming insurgents, readying and altering a country for the admission, take-over, rape and pillage by their paymasters, assasination and of course...running drugs. Not much of the CIA's hostory is brought to bear in this film, but their tendencies and behaviour ARE touched upon.

Di caprio is wicked. Crowe excells. and the storyline is very easy to make sense of.

DiCaprio and the man who played Maximus Decimus Meridius... in a movie about a paramilitary operation by the CIA... must... not... give in... OMG OMG OMG I CANT WAIT *giggles like a little ninny*

Although not liking Crowe mate, I think his performance in this film was solid...

SHIT! I downloaded this movie and forgot to watch it. This looks awesome, dicaprio is my all time favorite actor.. and he fits these type of movies PERFECTLY with his acting. Definitely going to watch this soon

He is one of those actors, who seem capable of solely playing well roles which are close to their actual nature. Its the same for many celebrity actors. Mel Gibson excels when playing the role of the unhinged, don't give a fuck lunatic...Denzel Washington excels playing the righteous, honourable...Crowe excels when playing the ruthless, brutal uncaring son of a bitch. Hopkins excels when playing the erudite psychopath...same goes for jack Nicholson, though with less psycho, more ego....Then you have actors whose versatility is their prime asset, such as Depp, and perhaps Gary Oldman...though Oldman tends to feel Right when playing warped sociopaths, so perhaps he belongs to the other group. As I tell myself when I go for dates...its easy, to play the role of myself.

would you put heath in that same catergory?
I know it may be seen as biased, but i think the incredibly varied work in his short life
from a knights tale to candy to brokeback to batman
all were completely different and equally well portrayed

I thought he was OK in Knights tale. 10 things I hate about you...was awful. But I can blame the script. And as the joker, he was wicked, but I still prefer Jack Nicholson. So...I guess I have too little to play with, mate, to make a suggestion of his versatility or suitability to excel only when typecast to roles close to his own character. And I do wonder, how much his death, adds to the view of his ability of his fans.
