hmmmmm....
i loved my ps1 so much.... It's hard to say what game was my favorite....

Gran Turismo 2... Hours and hours into that game.
and

Twisted Metal 3
Loved this game when i was younger!

Jet moto 2 and 3 were my favorites for quite a while when i was younger.

i used to be into Gundam a lot and i would play this all the time and pretend my mech was a gundam! you gotta realize this was ummmmm 15ish years ago i was playing these games... was it 15 years??? lol... maye 10 years? i don't know lol... i don't remember how old i was exactly when i was playing a lot of those games... but i wasn't driving yet.

Re: Favorite Playstation One Game Of All Time
I had bought an Nintendo 64, an extra controller, and Super Mario 64 within a month of the console's release date. I paid close to $600 for everything, and sold it all within 3 months for $300 so I could go and buy a Playstation. I'm guessing that was 1995 or 1996? So your 15 year estimate sounds about right!
God, hard to believe that time was that long ago! Jody and I rented a Playstation before I bought one and rented the first Loaded! game and the first Resident Evil. I was fuckin' hooked after that and had to own my own system!

idk why but i feel like games have gotten a lot better graphically and can now look super realistic but the storylines or the sheer fun doesnt amount to the old playstation 1 and consoles from that generation.

Re: Favorite Playstation One Game Of All Time
BEST GAME EVER!!! easily in my top 10 fav games (first 4 disc game i think and had AMAZING graphics/story back then)

story lines are also not really new to us anymore after 10-20 years of playing
I believe graphics and action take place over story lines now days too....so many ppl i know skip cutsenes anddont read anything they don't have too (pisses me off) so wouldn't surprise me if developers didn't want to put as much effort into something that's just cast aside

true i do like some of the older ffa stories more story felt more genuine i guess but it was mainly text based and imo reading dialogue is better than voice overs.....engages the person in the storyblacky0g wrote:idk why but i feel like games have gotten a lot better graphically and can now look super realistic but the storyline or the sheer fun doesn't amount to the old PlayStation 1 and consoles from that generation.

Don't argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Re: Favorite Playstation One Game Of All Time
Games have lost something since the ps1 era.
back then people were impressed by good graphics, now nothing is really suprising anymore.
we've seen so much accomplished in gaming in the last decade that we are kind of jaded and feel like nothing is that new or impressive...
you guys get what I'm saying?
like back then the future of gaming was exciting. Now it's just sort of the same as always...
everything is always hyperrealistic and we've lost a certain imaginatory element to it.
When I played zelda I had to imagine how cool his sword was in my head.
When I play oblivion I can see every detail of the sword and it requires no imagination.
same with characters and npcs.

Mmm... I'd have to pick between Gran Turismo, Tekken 3 or Resident Evil 2.

Re: Favorite Playstation One Game Of All Time
Probably would have to be Crash. It's difficult though, I had a huge stack of pirated games and an accessory that went in the back of the PlayStation to enable them. Good old '90s.
Edit: Changed my mind! I just remembered the loveable purple baby dragon!

Before I got into burning my own games, I had this "interactive demo CD volume 8," I think it was. The demo of Spyro on there had me confused. To go to the next level, you talk to a guy who operates a hot air balloon. In the demo, it tells you to come back in September. I came back in September to be told the same thing.
