If god is so good then Y is their evil?Debate.

Well,I'm not so religious,but I did used to go to Saturday Bible Class.

God gave us freewill to choose between what is right or what is wrong...But that is one of the things that I also don't understand....if he wanted such a perfect world then why did'nt he just create all of us to just do good

Itis not possible to have an omnipotent being and have free will at the same time. On top of that, the entire arguement that there cannot be a omnipotent, omniscent, all-good, being and evil at the same time, is quite flacid. And I'm an athiest myself. I could just as easily type up my philosophy book because the analogies it uses and explinations are rather topline, espiecially for this argument.

you need balance in the world

bit like how karl mark said society was based on conflict
if everybody was of one style (lets say "good") then say the policing system would fail

if everone and everything was good adn pure, tings would be boring
there would be no hopes

people have hopes, hopes to make things better.if everything was good and no evil then your stuck really

is god real thou or is it just something to fill in the gaps we dont understand?! e.g we used to thing god created man but then we found out about evolution. im not sure thou, can 6 billion people really be wrong?

Tom, I think you're reffering to the Adam and Eve thing...

God told Adam not to eat the fruit from the evil tree...but then Eve tempted adam to eat it and he did...causing himself to defy God and make him really angry. So,supposedly God gave us freewill.

to be honest with you guys I dont think there is a god or a devil. I just think that people want something to think so when there ready to die they will feel better. I mean come on your gonna belive something out of a 2000 year old book. Well everyones entitled to there own opnions right.

There is this story that I have heard (I don't remember if it was from a friend,family or bible class) but Lucifer was an angel and one day he felt very jeaolus of God,so he wanted to become more powerful than him...then God became angry and just exiled him from heaven. Lucifer started his own place..hehe..Hell..and..yeah..that is how it supposedly started.

See thats the kind of stuff that makes me turn my head how are you supposed to beleive that an angel was flying around trying to quarrel with god. So what does god do he givesthe angel unlimited power in a place called hell not a smart move by god. I mean come on this sounds like a fantasy movie or something.

Yeah, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But it's that we barely have any proof of God, we have more proof on evolution and it it makes wayy more sense than " God made himself" or "God was just always there"...If Adam and Eve were the first beings created on earth...then, what happened to the dinosaurs and the cave men and monkeys...where did monkeys evolved from, Adam and Eve?.nah man..My opinions and beliefs about God and Religion are swerving away and more into evolution...People always needed siomething to live by..to make their lives better,by setting up rules and laws in the form of religion. Look how many religions are out there!!! Zillions! How do we know which one is the true one?...we don't!!

Its just like I said people need something to hold onto. And that is a good point how did god ever get there. See this is why i cant beleive. I mean its a good damn story(The old testament) but I just cant come to beleive it.And evolution makes way more sense. There is actually proof that this went on so...... I gotta go with it.
