I'm seeing a couple people post on a couple threads lately but would be curious if anyone who is still active chimes in here, in a central place.
How's life? What's changed? Where are you at compared to where you were back in the old days here?
How are you doing?
Man, I joined this place 17 years ago... Good lord. Right towards the end of high school. Not sure I want to go back and read some of my early posts as they're probably cringey as hell but I might for fun sometime.
I'm married now, we've been together for almost 12 years and married for 7, child free, living the dream honestly. Got a degree in Information Systems and have been working for some fairly well-known tech companies for the last decade or so. A previous job had me traveling around the country (USA) for work doing datacenter migrations for a while, really liked that. Didn't get paid super well but it was awesome traveling to cities and states that I never expected or considered traveling to. Great way to broaden your horizons and learn more about the world. It was also great as I was able to bank airline and hotel miles to travel personally which is a huge part of life for me.
We've traveled to Japan twice now, a week in Tokyo in 2017 and two weeks to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Izu in 2019 with my best friend and his wife. Crazy stories and fun there, tons to talk about and I could go on for pages about how much I love that place! I'm not afraid to admit that I love k-pop and due to us becoming friends with a bartender in Asakusa during our first visit in 2017, I was able to get tickets to a HUGE, amazing concert in Tokyo Dome in 2019 performed by the girl group Twice. That was insane, timing worked out perfectly and because we had Japanese friends, we were able to score tickets only sold in Japan. So fuckin cool!
I'm fortunate to have decided to move to Hawaii and will be doing so in a couple weeks! It's been the single most logistically challenging and expensive thing I've ever undertaken, taking the better part of the last 6 months planning, preparing, budgeting, and spending shit tons of money, but hope it'll be worthwhile.
Still toke up these days, though usually only when I'm hanging out with friends though I do enjoy taking edibles several times a week. Never thought my state would have it medicinally legal and relatively easy to obtain but we do so that's been awesome.
I've also gotten into the super fun and also super expensive hobby of driving/owning fun cars... Went out to our local race track this last weekend and had a blast. Just recently bought a Civic Type R, but came from a 2020 Audi RS3 Nardo Edition, 2015 Subaru STi Limited, and 2006 Legacy GT. I wish I could keep all my cars, I love driving fun ones and get super attached to them so it sucks to see them go.
Hope some of you all are still around and that you're doing well!
Who's still kickin' around here? How are you?

Well well...seems I should take a peek back here, thought the weeds had overgrown the place and life beyond had taken over for many moons now.
