Probably cause we have noting more recent to revive....we accidently lost 3 years worth of material a while back...everything rolled back to 2007. Most of these threads that appear to be 3 years old actually aren't if you get what I mean

as much as it pains me, others have noticed as have I, that my souther english accent is becoming affected by the aussie twang all around me...my vowels are beginning to elongate. The only hope is for me to wear headphones to drown on the infection which attacks from all directions.

English, Italian and Dutch. I can read and write in Hangul (Korean) to get by, but not actually speak it as I have no idea how the most of the words actually sound.

there is nothing wrong with aussie accents! I quite like them actually. Its better than cockney n brum, but right now I am not really one to talk, I think my accent is currently akin to the female counterpart of a hideous concoction of both liam gallagher and peter kay, which admittedly is a sorry state of affairs :ohjeez:

English, Polish... But I want to learn a couple more languages. I think that jokes are a great way to understand the structure of a foreign spoken language. I still don't know Spanish well, but I really want to learn it in order to communicate with my friend from Spain in his language. I believe that learning foreign languages helps us train our brain and expands our capabilities. I plan to learn German too. Here in the article a good description of how the learning of a foreign language affects a person. think my international students will help me with this.
