I haven't read this topic, except for the original post, so forgive me if anything I say has already been stated.
First of all, the French have been one of our biggest allies. If it wasn't for France's intervention during the American Revolution, America would've been soundly defeated by Britain. Not only did they help us, but we screwed them over as soon the war ended. We had an agreement that, in exchange for their help, we would make sure any treaty we signed would benefit them as well. Instead, America signed a treaty right away with the British and left France out to dry. Yes, we did make up for this during World War II. I'm just pointing this out for the benefit of the people who think France has always been "selfish."
Secondly, people always give France shit for surrendering so quickly during World War II. It should be noted, however, that France had no chance. For one, they were in closest proximity to Germany. Well the Blitzkrieg had to cross the English Channel to get to England and the Atlantic Ocean to get to America, France had no such barriers. They were sitting ducks for the invasion. Also, it wasn't exactly like the attack was expected. Germany had been taking over smaller countries, but France was the first major power that the Nazi's attacked. To top it off, the capitol of France lies very close to it's border. Anyone would've surrendered to Germany under these conditions.
Finally, the reason France isn't fighting is because they don't buy into America's bullshit. The reason Britain and all the others follow is political and economical gain. Do you think they actually give a rat's ass about America? France simply isn't interested in fighting a war and sacrificing French lives to help America gain more oil resources. And, no, they don't owe us anything for World War II. I'd say WWII evened the score from the Revolution.
And you're arguments are based on the French having "funny accents," "eating frogs," or "smelling bad," well, then I can only hope you're joking.

I am French(Canadian) but i still think its wrong to stereotype people by where they're from. Like sayin all American's are dumb, over-weight, hicks in pickup trucks with shotguns. And just because the French are smarter then to go to war for no reason doesn't mean you should hate them.(Canada didn't too)
No France didnt go to war like germany or russia because they all had oil deals going with the regime! Its called doing whats in your interest. And now those dumb frenchies from france think that after the US/UK and other countries losing lives to do the job that they should be allowed a say in what goes on in Iraq well as far as I'm concerned they can go fuck off.
you nailed it stu!!
France, Russia, Germany, and even China all have serious big oil deals with the *former* regime. I cant stand it when people say that bush's goals for fighting the iraq war was oil. its the opposers who have the oil in mind!!! and another thing; while G. W. himself obviously isnt the brightest bulb in the box, he is smart enough to surround himself with intelligent people.
as for the french, i cant say ive met one person from france that hasnt been arrogant. mind you im not stereotyping here. just always seems that the french have a certain "quality"..... i leave that one open to discussion.

So the US don't want oil eh? When Iraqi fighters set oil pipelines on fire in Basra, the first thing the Brits did was try and extinguish them, even though they were facing heavy resisitance in Basra, and any sane military commander would secure the city first. The only government building that was protected from looters was the Ministry of Oil. All the rest was plundered, even the Ministry of Public Health.tankooo1 wrote:

Intelligent people surrounding Bush? Give me a break, it's a bunch of warmongers on the prowl for oil. They pretty much all have contacts in oil companies.
And if you believe them when they say they went in to relieve those poor Iraqis from the horrible Saddam, you're a fucking retard. Over 10,000 Iraqi citizens have died since Bush declared victory. Tens of thousands are homeless because their homes are bombed to pieces. Sanitation in the big cities is worse then in medieval times. They may have freedom of speech now, freedom of speech doesn't cure famine or disease, and it doesn't put a roof over your head either.
If we're talking WMDs:
1) No WMDs have been found so far, and it has been proven that Bush and Blair exaggerated (read: lied about) the number of WMDs. Allegedly, Saddam had one or two nuclear warheads. Nuclear warheads found: 0. He was believed to have a few tons of anthrax. Grams of anthrax found: 0. According to Bush and Blair, Saddam had 2,000 litres of VX nerve gas. Litres of nerve gas found: 0. The only illegal weapons the UN found were 20 Al-Samud missiles with a range of 95 miles instead of the legal 35 miles. And if I remember correctly, Iraq had destroyed 12 of them already when Bush decided he had waited for his oil long enough.
2) Even if they had found WMDs, they would have only themselves to blame. WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU THINK SADDAM GOT THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE? Take a wild guess.
Oh and Belgium didn't have oil interests in Iraq. Care to explain why we didn't want in? Perhaps Belgium had WMD interests? Maybe the US should invade us, those nuclear power plants we have here look awfully suspicious!
And about your little theory of French oil interests: If France had joined the warmongers, they would get a slice of the Iraqi oil as well, a considerably bigger quantity then what they got before the war. Or did you forget about the oil embargo?
If you're going to defend an illegal war, at least don't do it like a complete retard. KTHX.

most of the WMS (neucleur)came from russia and its the us's problem anyway they trained sadam husain and binladen in armed combats along with thousands of others, so they are bitchin about them killing ppl they have themselves to blame.
its like givin` a kid a shotgun, and bein` shocked that he killed some one he hates with it.
