Make A Lightbulb Vaporizer

Vaporizers are possibly the best things to smoke out of, and is the most recommended methods of smoking for medical marijuana. Its much safer on your lungs, since you dont combus the molecules, causing the release of more carcinoges, gets rid of much tar, and doesnt make you choke. Also, it allows more THC to be inhaled, since instead of incenerating much of it, you just release it to the air.

First off, I would like to thank Goosie for the idea. His is the most common and simplistic.

Materials:
Light bulb
Bottle Cap (size depends on size of light bulb...)
Knife
Straw
Tape (Electrical is best)

Procedure:

1) First, take the light bulb and your knife. Cut off the top of the metal part of the light bulb with the knife (or saw i guess... just be EXTREMLY CAREFUL! seriously... i dont want people getting cut badly because of my tutorial! take your time and do it slowly and carefully)




2) When you have that metal part cut off, then empty out the inside. Take out the metal stuff inside that makes the lightbulb make light... when your done the inside should be cleaned out. Using plyers helps since most of the peices are aluminum (i think...) and just bend really easly to fall out.
Also be sure to clean out the bulb completly with soap and water, and let fully dry. and be careful as bulbs are quite fragile!



3) Now find a bottle cap (mostly 2 liter coke-bottle caps work... they have on all the bulbs ive tried so far...) and screw it onto the light bulb (thats why you left some of the metal there ) to see if it fits. if it doesnt, look for a diffrent sized cap.



4) Now take your cap off and make 2 holes in it. 1 just big enough to fit a staw through, and the other slightly smaller. These are your inhalation holes, and your clearing hole. the smaller one is to cover with your finger to keep the smoke from excaping. the one with the straw is to inhale



5) Now to put in the straw to complete your vaporizer! put the straw into the larger hole



6) To use:
unscrew the top, and put your weed in (i break mine up, but thats just me...). Cover the smaller hole and put your mouth on the straw (dont inhale) and put the bulb over a tea-candle or use your lighter under the bulb. the bulb will fill with white smoke. after it does that, uncover the small hole and inhale through the straw. makes weed last longer and gets ya pretty damned high hope someone finds this useful on one of those days with nothing to smoke with... takes aprx 15 minutes to build.

i just tested it and it works perfectly! one this i found out though is raise the straw a bit when lighting or it will melt

i got done smokin at 1130East. sum then tried the vap.its works well bringin the high up but i wont know how good it is until i try it sober...i had my shit in my pipe all ready for the morning

get a lung and make a bottle cap with a small hole for a straw and use the straw from the vaporizer in it so that you connect the two. then as you heat up the vaporizer pull the bag back in the lung fun fun fun

thats a pretty dam good idea! the only problem is getting the straw, to be completely airtight, along with joing the two devices

How the heck do you cut the metal part of a lightbulb? A hacksaw would work great...but I don't know if I have one here.

Looks like a good method. I don't know if it was explained in the tutorial, but I heard somewhere to make these with clean bulbs only. The frosted white kind will burn off along with your weed and is probably dangerous to inhale.

the frosted ones are just glass bulbs coated with this dust stuff that comes off instantly with water. Id run it through the dishwasher b4 smoing outta it first, though it probrably is best to use a clear one to start out with.

And to cut out the bottom, just use a steak knife.

I'd take it out, I think it is from when you cut the top off. Just use the straw to blow it out.

How is this different then smoking weed normally? When I did it with tobacco it just started burning and turned to ash...

It did feel like shit and taste like shit when I inhaled it though.

why would you put tobacco in a vaporizer? the purpose of a vaporiser is not to burn the stuff, but instead evaporating THC without alot other stuff bad for your lungs.

and ppl, better use new bulbs then filthy ones, they're cheeper than a candy, lol

OK I get how it works now. I'm guessing the reason it tasted like shit is because of all the damn chemicals in tobacco lol.

Only problem is that I can't make it right with out busting it...
