Use of Marijuana in Religion
I stumbled across this the other day, I found it kind of interesting, but since I'm not too much of a religious person, I'm kinda curious as to the reactions and thoughts of anyone who is...
Marijuana and the Bible
Careful, that page is pretty long, so if you've got the time, and energy, go for it.

Heh, I know. This one kid I know went and bought a pound of it, filled 2 tupperware containers that were about a gallon each, and I must have completely eroded my lung lining with that stuff, and I didn't so much as see a thing. He's working on finding a way to make an extract at the moment, so I anxiously await that.
But that's kinda off the subject, and I'm about to get newb flamed.

I marijuana is probably one of the best spiritual tool for the everyday 'joe' ever given to us. as you progress in your spirituality and knowledge you move along to slavia, mushrooms, peyote and ayahuasca.
i also know that many native american and african tribes would take high doses of these in a coming of age ceremony

It would quite certainly make sense, and explain how the culture really took to it and all, but in the article, they had a few quotes about how marijuana was called "the new wine" or "incense" and was burned and taken in while talking to God, not sure how that relates to the bible or anything, but it seems sorta like it could make sense, especially with the salvia useage of the native american tribes, to actually bring those things to life I suppose.
