From a UK standpoint and as an African Caribbean I do not envy the American People and their government. This is not fault of or by the people but the mistakes of the people in power, which is then compounded by the fact that the people cannot see alot of what is going on.
I can see from an outside view a lot of what is fed through the media and I can see a lot of corruption. There is corruption in every goverment and this may be nothing new but the position that American has in the world I think the efforts to reduce this corruption should be increased infinitely.
I thnk way too much power is taken away from the people and I think the media has a lot to answer for when talking about the things that the american people believe. I think the mentality that America is in control or has a certain level of power over the [rest of the] world, whether it be true or not, is just arrogant and this is tool that the government uses to get the people to support many things that from the rest of the world's point of view seem inhumane.
I'm going to leave it there for more discussion.....but this is just the tip of the iceberg when talking about american government and the corrupt idealogy behind it........

I hate the US government. It is one of the biggest bullshit stories ever told, I do not believe for one second that it is a government by the people and for the people. Bullshit.
I hate US society and culture. It's fucking disgusting. We're the fattest country on Earth, strolling around shopping malls and driving to fast food joints. And here I am stuck in the middle of all of it just because I happened to be born here.

in reality there is nothing we can do about any government in any country because as long as you oppose them, they will oppose you. obviously they have more power so you can never win. they say its a democracy but its not, if a party wants to win they rig the elections. its so fucked. makes u kinda wonder if the terrorists have got the right ideas, obviously not the mindless killing of innocent people and by the will of god (i mean what the hell!?), but the corrupt politicians i for one would not miss
I might like you better if we slept together

i just remembered another thing that makes it so obvious that the american government is all about money... to be president you need to have a certain amount of money, not sure how much but its well above what the average man or woman can afford. what kind of a democracy is that?

Exactly. The government is not in the hands of the people, it's in the hands of the wealthy. The kind of wealth that can only be obtained by the corrupt and desperate who give no thought to anyone but themselves.
