If you're parents really want to live around other follwers of Judaism, then tell them to move to prestwich, near Manchester. The only warfare there is the occasional little bastard with a BB gun, running away from the rabbi's after shooting their hats off.

My sisters husband is jewish. My brother has decided not to go, as he cant speak any hebrew and he doesnt want to have to military service, plus he had a fiancee here and she isnt jewish. Still cant make a decision.....

dude you're 21 you got loads of life left, do you really want to waste a load of it living in a country you dont wanna and doing military service when you dont wanna? I understand you're worried about your parents, but ask yourself, is your presance gonna make them any safer? and even so, im sure they realise the danger and it's still what they want to do, if they feel they're in danger they'll make their own choice.MOT wrote:My sisters husband is jewish. Tweedle, you are the man. Ive read a lot of your posts, and while a touchy "oh, I'm so easily offended," person might take this post (and a few others) the wrong way, I think you say it how you feel it, no bullsh*t, and from the soul.tweedle wrote:id rather live in Iraq right now
I dont know if its just that I agree with your points a lot, or if your posts caught my attention and I read them more carefully - and with attention and an open mind, but I dont think you try to come across big, or anything but as who you are. This last post could have drawn a lot of flack, but from me at least, and apparently others, your reputation and who you are based on what you post - well, the lack of people calling BS on this statement stands for itself.
I love America - I hate the way that people who are running it are raping it, disrepecting the values and laws on which it is founded, and selling us out for money, but I can not stand the way we are treated by those in power - nor how they treat the rest of the world.
Example: Argentina recently offered to provide below-cost sweet grade crude oil to certain parts of the USA which are neglected by our own government, and which cannot afford oil to heat their families homes this winter. Parts of NYC were included in this offer of low-cost oil - the only stipulation was that the oil MUST be used for these low-income suffering families.
Well the Bush Admin. turned them down, only 2 Congressmen raised the issue with the press, and they have been branded "Anti-American" by the President et al.
I havent been to Iraq - I cannot serve in the armed forces, nor do I know if I would if I could, but a close friend of mine did. He is a USAF Captain, and was an interrigator of captured "enemy combat" personelle. He said that 99% of it was wrong, they were just people caught in mass roundups of ordinary citizens. He came back, and while he still serves the Air Force, he isnt the same as when he went.
Peace,
Goo
