it is basically a drip irrigation system, using soil in pots with a homemade dripper watering the soil in yet undecided intervals.

ok, what i suggest you do, is water by hand at first. figure out how long it takes to dry out. this is how often you should have the timer on. you also need to turn the dripper on to water a fully dry pot, the same point you would have watered by hand. if you set your dripper up this way, you won't over water and you won't end up suffocating the plant and causing root rot. a good wet/dry cycle is good for the plant as the roots are almost 'pulled' out, in the search for water. also, replacing the stale air in the compost with fresh air is only really possible by allowing the root mass to dry out, before drenching it again. i run the drippers in my coco this way. i use hydro nutes because there are no nutes in coco coir. it's made from coconut husks, ground down to a fine fluffy consistency. it is an inert substance, meaning it has no nutes and cannot, on it's own, support life. i feed the nutes via my drippers. you either need to feed just water, ditch the idea of hydro, and only feed when they look hungry, or you need to ditch the compost, get some hydro nutes, and pick something inert to grow in. :D

Go to a local nursery or grow shop and pick up some organic fertilizer. Chemical fertilizers fuck with the plants natural ability to sustain itself and in my opinion have no place in cannabis growing.

I'm sure 'erb will hit you up with some better specifics but just keep away from chemical fertilizers.

FOX FARMS is one brand I'm familiar with and has a good rep among cannabis growers.

Try doing a couple searches on ask.com of organic fertilizers and if I think of any more I'll let you know.

You should be able to find a nice organic potting soil mix. I know of people using one's with finely chopped fish. This way there is natural time released nutrients as the fish decomposes. Another plus for organic fertilier is that it's alot harder to burn the plant with over fertilization. I know someone who got tons of bags of it for a big professional grow. I'll try and find out what the brand was although they might not have the same on your side of the world. So just look around

It's made of worm castings. Worm castings are good.

Something like this would be better:
