personally i dont want to get my ear pierced, just my eyebrow and maybe my tongue, but i have nothing against expanded piercings i see them all the time at metal shows and quite frankly they just dont bother me...wow i feel really light because i just smoked weed last night it feels great

I said they suck because people are so influenced by society's standards, they let the media and their conservative families dictate their attraction levels, instead of realizing that there are many forms of beauty, plugs being one of them. People have been altering their bodies, mainly with plugs (Whither in their lips or ears) and tattoos since the beginning of man. It is only until recently that idea has become taboo. And it mainly stems from religion, saying that to alter your body is to disgrace it. I alter myself because I hate the standard of beauty this society has set for me. And I don't even want to be compared to them. My tattoos, plugs, and piercings free my mind of those restraints and allow me to find other people who feel the same way I do. They are a symbol of my personal freedom. And of course I'm going to take it personally when people bash it.

dana, as much as i love you i am in some sort of strange argumentative mood.. and i understand your position.. but doing someting just because society says so...

Where has society told me to get plugs??? I do it it out of my own free will, because it is my answer to their question of beauty. It about finding your own answers.
*I edited out my bitchy comment, but this is a personal issue so it's hard for me to not get defensive. I'm just trying to share my personal view. Not everyone does things for the same reason, i'm just giving mine.

dana, i im not trying to insult your integrity, i'm just in an argumentative mood, and by you "answering" to society's question of beauty (obviously something out of the "norm") is letting society have an effect on you, i'm guessing the exact thing that you're trying to disrupt?

again nothing personal, i myself have piercings and i'm planning on getting some tats, not because i'm trying to give society an answer to their question, merely because i think it is beautiful, and it opens up a world to a counter culture that i'd like to be a part of

as for the "bitchy" comments, you may PM them, i wont take offense, i understand this is a personal stance to you, but when arguing it's easier to get poitns across without emotion :/

as for you tom.. if your account has been deactived.. i suggest you go read the new FAQ thread.. and probably not advertise that you're still able to post until you actually find out with your account was deactivated.. or this new one will be too
