most people that post jokes like that just post them without the intention of being racists, like doc said, i have lots of muslim and black friends, they tell jokes about us belgians, we laugh , i tell jokes about blacks and muslims, we laugh too, no probs...

but its wrong real fucked up ppl start intentionaly doing that shit, which we cant verify since well its an anonimous forum (ok u have nicknames but that doesnt tell anything about u being a racist or not)

Last week a socialist party from the extreme right wing (Vlaams Blok) had a meeting in my town, me and 2 other friends went there to protest, we made some banners that had some slogans on it, but not offencive.
and this guy walks up, reads the posters (one of em said less crime rob wim and marc, those three guys have high functions in the faction but they've all commited some serious crimes (shooting ppl,something with drugs and rob beat up his wife in the middle of the street in front of their kids school) so the guy goes "you do know the reason why he beat up his wife?" and we went no man we dont wanna hear your fucking reason "so he goes : 1) he and his wife are divorcing 2) his sister just commited suicide... those are good reasons to beat up ur wife!" so we go no way man you facist pig and he goes "YEAH FACIST NAZI THE ONLY GOOD *censor* IS A DEAD *censor* "

no, you're missing my point. that was real racism. and you saw it, and now you think that because you can perceive the difference between that and the 'humour' your friends enjoy, its ok for people to make racist jokes. that's wrong. no matter how ok you think it is, if someone is offended by it there is NO EXCUSE for defending it. i had a boss who used to make slanty-eyed faces and speak in accents when he imitated the chinese waitresses....along with peppering his speech liberally with 'jokes' about pakis etc...... when i complained because no other white person would stand up for the girls who were being verbally victimised and ridiculed behind their backs by this guy i was told by the manager that 'i've worked in inner-city schools....i've seen real racism, and what your boss says is harmless'. NOTHING that actively discriminates and differentiates between races is harmless, and anyone who defends the whites' right to make dicriminatory jokes is an apologist. do you see how i didn't miss your point now?

I agree that yeh there are many people who take this behaviour too far, but generally telling a few jokes is soomething that most people are capable of dealing with.

I'm no conservative, nor am I over-sensitive or uptight. I am however completely f*cked off with all the despicable racism on this website. I refer mainly to the jokes section, where it seems anyone can write anything and get left the fuck alone by the moderators. I AM F*CKING SICK OF IT! Seriously, go to the jokes and look for yourselves.

ok i think you are making a very brought rationalisation of the members of these forums.....just because there are some racist jokes in the jokes section does not make me or the majority of the patrons here racists. its up to the mods to clean these up but like most of us they aren't sitting waiting for someone to post a racist joke and hit them with a stick...if you don't like a joke notify them to delete it instead of bitching and moaning about it.......

mate, i'm 7/8 scottish 1/8 portogeusa and i live in manchester. call me an anachronism if u like but no i don't have it in me to discriminate against the people that 'aren't like us'. and if u count there's probably quite a few like me. and if u really think that our history has in some way been shaped by this kind of informal racism, then yes you're right but the way its taken it is not positive. do you really want me to hit you with some FACTS about this situation........i don't know what dreamworld you live in but we are living in a racist and violent country, and these 'jokes' only help perpetuate this. Jokes are not jokes because they are inherently not to be taken seriously, they are jokes because they are intended to make people laugh. People don't just laugh at other people cos its not serious and its all fun, they laugh because they are amused by the thought of people unlike them. People who laugh at racist jokes are for the most part laughing AT not WITH........ if there are exceptions then don't just defend the joke-telling per se, because then you're defending racists.
