I mean there's homeless people everywhere, but they don't set up these little communities of tents and shacks quite like they do in Hawaii. They seem to tolerate it in Hawaii...in what other american city (and tourist destination) would you see this?

As far as accommodation for the homeless goes, those tents seem modern, in good shape and clean...perhaps a higher class of hobo roams Hawaii??? Tramps I know, homeless, in India as well as back home in England and here in Australia, often make do with pieces of cardboard alone...

I could've died being homeless for so long..It's sick and sad..

Damn..we've all been there..well some of us anyway.

I slept in the box of a moving truck for one night when it was -20C outside. I had a huge pile of really thick moving blankets to snuggle up in and even that wasn't enough. I feel asleep under the blankets at one point and woke up sweating awhile later. Once I had sweated, nothing would warm me up. It was the worst night of my life.
