Re: Unusual Animals as Pets
Found this guy in my front porch as I was getting home late on night. It creeped me out.

Those square tiles are over a foot long, just to give you an idea of how long the thing was. I've only seen a slug one other time and it was a quarter the size of that slimy killer.

i used to play with chipmunks all the time, just feed them enough penuts and they get used to you. i would have them chilling in my lap while i would read, just munching out on penuts

I'd be nervous having a chipmunk munching some nuts while he's in my lap. He might take a big toothy crunch out of one of my walnuts.captainMorton wrote:i would have them chilling in my lap while i would read, just munching out on penuts

Re: Unusual Animals as Pets
When I was a kid my grandmother used to put out peanuts on the front steps for the squirrels. They'd sit right on the stairs and eat them or stuff them in their cheeks and go bury them. I decided to try and get them to eat out of my hand. With a bit of patience (and sitting real still) it worked! It was awesome having a squirrel come up to me and take a peanut out of my hand, the squirrels were suprisingly tame. The same squirrels would always come back. We could tell them apart cause one was missing part of it's tail, and another one had a black spot on it and the other was really small

Re: Unusual Animals as Pets
You are right dude, sugar gliders are awesome. They can glide on air, not only that, they are also playful, odorless and harmless. Good for everyone to be a pet.Dr. Greenthumb wrote:Are you talking about sugar gliders? Those things are pretty cool. When i worked in the zoo they had a few that they would keep up by the front desk.Ikku wrote:My friend used to have flying squirrels which were super cool. I kind of like the idea of a small animal that can crawl up on your shoulder and stuff but it's kind of creepy too...there's a reason they're called rodents. o_O
What I really really want though is an octopus. They're really intelligent and so cool and expressive with all those arms. Just look up pet octopuses on youtube they're really cool!
I don't think octopuses aren't all they're cracked up to be. I've had an unfriendly run in with one in the wild before. I guess if I had a saltwater tank I'd be tempted to get one...saltwater tanks are a bitch to maintain though

Re: Unusual Animals as Pets
I have an experimental animal that I have been having quite a bit of fun with. It's got 12 legs, and I believe it to be a breakthrough in modern science. Every now and then it will bite my leg, but it is only telling me it wants to go outside. I usually feed him the same food I eat, he seems to digest it rather easily. I have had to perform many operations to keep him in the status that he is in, though he is quite the healthy little whipper snapper if I do say so myself. Someday soon I will teach it to dance for me, and rollover. A man can dream, can't he?
