Hey Tom, do you ever have a problem keeping jewelry in? I feel as if it's a sign - after I put a temporary curved barbell in my labret, it came apart and I think I swallowed most of it (I was eating @ the time). drat! Then I couldn't get new jewelry until today, so it was a real pain in the ass to keep my post in without a stud to hold it there for the last two days. I had to reinstall it no less than 10 times. Now it is all swollen again.

Should I tighten the jewelry with pliers or something! I dont want to have to think about losing the damn jewelry out of my face every time I turn around.

ummm sounds like 2 things it could be, wrong balls on the jewlery to much thread or not enough` if you know what i mean or you mess too much =p and if its still swollen then you should be wearin` a ring

it allows the swelling to go down and if dirt gets in it it allows it to get out easy, or is it not too old ? and hell yea tunnels own hurts the first few stretches just getting it goin`

Yeah, I think I messed with it too much, twirling it and shit...um, I don't know about putting a ring in, it would have to be kind of a big ring...wait it's not a lip piercing, it's farther down than that...you ever put a ring in your labret? Since it's swollen I just have the long post again, tightened the ball as best I could, I hope it stays on this time

but if not, I have backup. Damn jealous of all your jewelry I have to start me a collection...I want some crazy ones like a little disco ball or some different colored gems...I liked the gem better than this metal ball...when I had my tongue pierced I had a little dice...I wonder if that would look good or just stoopid on your face...probably just stoopid...mayeb like a little spike or something...heh. Craaaaazy.

lols well ok over here in england you have to have a ring in strait away, to allow the swelling in so like if i was you i would start with a ring. but you must always make sure what ever you have in your lip is 1.6mm and any size that is comfatable. its more confatable and you can play all you want, and use alcohol free mouthwash cuz alcohol can cause your pierceing to shift and grow out faster. =]

Well, yesterday I tragically expanded my own hole and now I have no more labret (under the lower lip) piercing.

Ok so I had a little gem on the end of the post that comprised my piercing. I was eating toast and the back of my piercing accidentally got caught on my lower teeth, and I yanked the gem through my piercing canal so that it got lodged in the middle of my face tissue. It was very disturbing - I couldn't seem to push it back or finish yanking it all the way through, as the gem was considerably larger than my piercing canal. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital and have them surgically remove it. This is at 1 am when I'm by myself and totally stoned - not my idea of a good time. I had to buck up and shove the gem all the way back through my torn and bleeding canal, and then I had to remove the piercing because of the damage. Now I have a hole in my face.

That sounds nasty Caro!

Last year when I still had a proper hole through my tongue I had a spiked bar through it, went to this adventure playground thing and someone brought a skateboard along so I decided to do this death slide vert thing on it (skateboarding isn't exactly a forté of mine) and the spike thing ended up tearing up half the fleshy stuff under my tongue. That hurt. Was quite cool being able to drible blood everywhere tho, got some cool pictures, looks like night of the living dead or something. And I could stick my tongue out further. Although that hurt alot.

personally i like pluggs and tunnels. my lobes are streached to 4 gauge, my cartalige is 14. i plan on letting them close up as soon as i get a job, and up to about zero gauge they go back to looking like a normal periceing. and just for reference, 2 gauge is about the size of a classic Bic pen.
