I never thought about hating French people just coz they're French. But then again I don't live over there, where you're all crammed together in these tiny little countries.

france sux ... without us they wouldnt be france theyd probably be ruled by another country but us bein the nice country we are stepped in and protected them and now we need some help and they r basically sayin screw u!! now that aint fair at all.... also the us, canada, germany, france etc. have a special document or treaty or somethin like that sayin that if 1 of us gets attacked we will ALL help them out and heres some news france we were attacked and we dont NEED ur help but its nice to have extra help. i say next time france needs help we should turn round bend over and tell them to kiss our a**.

i have to say i agree, that was an incredibly dumb comment. "a special document or treaty or something like that" the only french-american treaty that even touches upon that was signed in January 27, 1950. it was a Mutual DEFENSE assistance agreement. The war in iraq is FAR from defensive. We are the invaders. Even if you support the war, its a fact, we invaded them. Iraq did not attack us. If the fight moves to american soil, the french will be obligated to help, but it sure seems unlikely that such a thing will happen.

and France, Canada, Germany, United States, etc.. are part of the U.N. and NATO. their alliance rests in their membership to the orginizations, not with treaties, (though im not saying treaties do not exsist between them)

another point, the americans were far from the only countries involved in freeing france from germany. Great Britain, Canada and the free french also played a major role in primary invasions of Operation Overlord (D-Day). The Russians also had a major role, in fact, THEY were the ones who actually captured Berlin, NOT the United States.

The french are not required to assist the United States in every military campaign it launches. just when WE are invaded.

ah yes, using the help. now, contrary to what most people seem to think, the occupation of iraq is going pretty damn well. theres been what? like 50 casualties? compare that to any other military campaign. We have handled ourselves and are CONTINUING to handle ourselves pretty damn well. Of course, french assitance wouldnt hurt.
