alright i was just wondering what all you thought of america...

in government and society as a whole.....

do you think our government is good?
does it censor too much? (big issue i thinK, well it basically pisses me off eg. marijuana, movie, tv, electronics, cars, nudity(you know what i mean))

why is the us like this?

im just getting frustrated in the way the us government treats us and i thought you guys might feel the same way...

(this may not make sense because im completly blazes, but this just makes me mad)

Your government sucks. Theyve made alot of mistakes and nothing they have done has been good.

The main impression I get from alot of Americans, not all but alot is that "Were the best, we have the best army, were a super power so were the best" When this is far from true.

US government is capable of terrible things and there is some really messed up stuff going on in this country (i.e. welfare of the poor, marijuana legislation, and the most recent abuses of power)

Just look at this that I found. The US has one of the largest global deficits ever in history. They spend so much money on their military they can't do anything but start skirmishes and wars to test out their new military technology. And what better palce than Africa and the Middle East

But that's a whole new topic that I shouldn't have touched on.

I really detest American Society. It's the most disgusting display of mentality control ever. I would say it's even worse than communist stalin russia, at least there you knew who your enemies were. In the US everyone hides behind so many masks. The "media' and "popculture" just provide an unlimited number of distractions for the people, which prevent them, or persuade them, to neglect their own lives and wellbeing because it's easier to watch someone else rise and fall in their lives under the limelight than try and improve and better their own. US Society provides so many icons, and celebrities are practically fucking Deified! How many people are thinking that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby is going to be the next messiah!? It's sad. And this whole idea of preying on gloom and betrayal, and depression, it's like american society is turning into a bunch of emotional vampires!! While they all claim to be their own enlightened individuals just because they watch the OC and Desperate Houswives.

I don't know, I could go on for hours, but I won't. I want to see what more people have to say about all this. and btw the Oscars are political.

Capitalism is evil but that's what makes this country run. These huge corporations are going to end up leaving this world and especially this country with some horrible consequences, its like setting up a house of and seeing how long its going to stand. Sooner or later things are going to mess up, sometimes i think the main reason for war is to try and unite this country and stimulate the economy.

Many Americans see this but there is really nothing we can do about. Social security is non-existant we pay taxes for something we will never seen, alot of it has to due with the way welfare is draining our system related to women who have no husband no job and keep popping out babies. Not to mention the number of illegal immigrants that we have draining our system and our job market.

The rich get richer and the middle class supports the poor. the government doesnt put a stop to it and seems to be more worried with furthuring their own agenda, gaining power, or helping buddy corporations.

Many people blame Bush but i hate to break it to you guys but this goes alot deeper than Bush. Our whole political system is based on spoils and helping your friends. somewhere along the line the government stop worrying about the common man. Has nothing to do with republic or democratic, conservative or liberal. We're so worried about gay rights, animal rights, and many other problems. I agree these things need attention but there are alot bigger problems that arent getting any attention.

If the problem is ever going to be fixed the country needs to recognize, as a whole, that somewhere along the line the morals this country was based on disappeared then try and find a way to put the country back together before it completely falls apart.

You know there are all these different kinds of activists like Doc said, animal rights gay rights etc etc, but they fail to realize that the inherent problems towards which they find their calling to try and solve aren't individual but infact a universal problem. If the people would just onsolidate and realize that it's not what should appear to be right or wrong, but rather, that if their morals were in check, and if everyone shared the same ideals on how one should conduct themselves, there would be a unified subjectivity to all the wrongs in this world and there would be no need for these activist groups that try to seperate themselves from the main nerve of society.

I'm not trying to say there needs to be a massive brainwashing, although that would deffinitely be the easiest and most efficient way (in certain respects). I don't even know if it's possible with the way everything these days seems to be geared towards the inflation of the individuals ego. No one can even barely attempt to try and lower the walls they've constructed around their hearts to block out all the negative energies, cause that's all they've done. They've built walls and forgot to place their gates, and now through isolation they've grown paranoid and fear that the reprecussions of this barrier dissasembly or destruction would cause them nothing but an infinte succession of grief and agony.

It's the people themselves that need fixing not everything else. We try so hard to fix everything around us that we're deluded to the fact that it's probably us, ourselves, that are infact whats broken.

How can one ever hope to build a big comfy couch when 2/3s of all the bolts are bent or stripped?

While this post might have seemed somewhat askew from the topic, I'm pretty sure what I've said here pierces to the heart of the subject matter at hand.

I was saying that all the countries are in debt, america is just the least in debt making it the richest, but technically it isn't the richest because we're in debt too!

check out the link he put on that post. $30,000 per citizen if we were to pay of our debt thats including newborns. not to mention that we pay taxes for social security even though we'll never be able to see a penny of it, so why are we even paying it?....im starting to rant here just read the last few posts you'll get the idea.

to many illegal immigrants, welfare, wars, and corporate fiascos are sucking up the money. my mom is in her 40's and shes been paying taxes since she came to this country. shes not going to get anywhere close to all that money back not even enough to live off of her social security, by the time our generation claims ours theres going to be nothing because its continually disappearing.
