i was wondering if any1 has used this instead of gum. it is also refered to as "green stuff" and can be found at hardware stores and modeling stores. i don't kno if its harmful or if its a good idea.

I don't think it would be harmful, cause you're not supposed to be smoking it!. If it has a similar consistency too gum then it should be okay. You want something moldable to prevent air leaks at the joints. Play-doh works well too.

well i found a bottle and read the warning. it said it may irrate the eys and skin, though i've worked w/ this numerous times and it doen't bother me. it said don't eat it and that u should work in a well ventelated area (it smells when u mix it and while it sets, but after that it doesn't smell). so do u think its safe? it won't be near the flame so i don't think it should be a prob.

Ya I think it will be okay. For the think bout the eye irritation, that is if it comes in contact with your eyes. And for the skin, maybe you could wear gloves if you're worried. THe only thing you might want to watch though is the temperature. If the stuff gets too hot it may not be good, but I don't think it should get tha hot

Ive found that if u melt candle wax onto and around the pipe on ur bong it keeps it air tite
