i just read that cops have been catching people growing indoors by the rapid change in electricity used in your house and that it will cause some raised eye brows....is this true? how should you go about this?

this is only viable if you use high powered lighting. a few fluoro's etc. will not even show up. you'll use more leccy boiling a kettle

I will use a 100w bulb as an example and have provided an equation below for people.

To start 1 kilowatt-hour is 1000 watt-hours. A 100 watt bulb operating for 1 hour will consume 100 watt-hours of electricity, so assuming that it is operated for 12 hours/day the bulb will use 1200 watt hours or 1.2 kilowatt-hours/day. Assuming electricity is 1 cent per kilowatt-hour it will cost 1.2 cents/day to operate one 100 watt bulb for 12 hours.

Daily cost to operate bulbs = (A*B*C/1000)*D where

A = bulb wattage (100 above)
B = number of bulbs (1 above)
C = Hours operated per day (12 hours above)
D = Price per Kilowatt-hour in your area (1 cent above)

so (100*1*12/1000)*1 = 1.2

I hope that helps.

sweet, nice post there pud... I knew there was an easy equation to it, but never got around looking for it.
That should help a lot of people out since this is a fairly common question
