Herbaliztik you seem like the type who is rather educated on the growing subject, any chance you could direct me to a guide for growing? I'm kind of interested in getting started myself.

your plants look like they are perhaps lacking light, very thin stretched stems that are bending too easily and require sticks to hold them up. the only time a plant should require support is if the buds are so big that it makes it top heavy. looking at the size of those buds i dont think that is the problem. u also got some leaf burn on some of those plants also not good for the plant, very stressful as i learned the hard way. what nutrients are you using? if light is not your problem, then it could be a lack of the right nutrients to promote stem growth.
your leaves look very thin - which i believe is good news. i think this means good air circulation, something i seem to always have a problem with, i end up with big fat leaves despite having fans directed at the plants, something to do with my humidity maybe, any idea what the humidity is in your grow room? as i could do with sorting that problem out myself.
what setup do u have mate?

the stems are thicker than my fingers. LOL. you're looking at the top of a 4-4.5 foot plant my friend. the plants in the veg cab are from cuttings. i stripped the lower leaves from them to remove the places the cutting can lose water. they have just rooted. these are soft tip cuttings. soft, green, thin shoots. the 'support' you mention is so that i COULD PURPOSELY, what was it you said, "bend too easily" the stems, i think it was. i trained the plants down as i ran out of height. sticks are a good precautionary measure for the yield these ladies are going to be holding, and they double up as a good place to tie down the soft tip, before it gets too thick, when training plants into your required height. the leaf burn on the plants in the veg cab is from my going away camping and my plants growing into the lights that i had setup for them temporarily. as you can see, what was the top, is now half way down. i doubt i have much to worry about. and the smaller ones were in bags that were right up next to same said lights, which is why they're a tad stunted, although this week they have perked up and i've just selected 3 bonsai mums to be.
ok, nutes and setup:
My Hydro Wardrobe:
pic taken 4 weeks ago:
http://www.weedguru.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18226
2 x 200 watt Envirolites. 1 red spectrum. 1 blue
Mylar reflective sheeting on all sides
Power Plant Ghost Wing Pro reflector
30L nute tank
500L per hour submerged pump
up to 8 pot, automated drippers
easy roller light fixings
Systemair RVK 125mm L1 inline duct fan for extrction
passive filtered intake
Grow medium:
Canna coco, coco coir 50L
Nutes:
Canna Coco specific nute 2 part: A+B
Vitax organic seaweed extract
Epsome salts on standby if by some miracle i see MG deficiency in hydro. more than a little unlikely LOL
veg cab only currently has 80 watts of red spectrum cfl right now but i do have a 125watt ecolite on the way for that (blue spectrum) and a td160 inline duct fan to take care of extract. i'l have these at the end of the month. i made the veg cab about 4 days ago

i had a temporary effort to house these plants but it caused the burning with proximity to lights, so that's it's replacement. some pics of events in the veg cab:
in here we have 2 mazar. 1 willie nelson x love potion #1. 1 citral. i am rooting 2 cuts each of willie nelson and double afghan slam:
my 3 chosen mums to bonsai. these shall receive regular trimming and never be flowered. 1 mazar. 1 willie nelson x love potion #1. 1 citral. the small oe will be repotted to same size pots as the others when the pot dries out somewhat. this protects the micro hairs on the roots. not good to repot when wet:
the other mazar that i chose to flower now. i'll wait until it roots through into it's new 8L pot and then it'll go into the 'drobe with the other two:

that was a pic at around 2 weeks before harvest on my last grow in soil. im currently growing in hydro for first time. il post a few pics up in my own topic tommorrow i guess.
anyway back to my point, i think reading that ur plants are wanting more light, hence the stretching and very large internode spacings. they might be as thick as ur finger, but when they are so tall and stretched that is not very thick at all in comparison.........
i grew with envirolights, so i know that is ur problem, get a hps setup, it will double ur yield, uv got everything else setup like a pro.

my plants are long and stretched in your opinion, but i've had far more experienced growers than both of us in my grow, complimenting me. i think i'll stick with these 400 watts right now ta

i need the height right now. i'll grab a hps and upgrade when i have more floor space. i'm running 150 watts per square foot right now. a light above and a light vertically inbetween the plants. we move house in november, that'll be the time to upgrade. i can't afford to lose the height a hps would require right now. dimensions of the drobe are: 0.4m x 0.7m x 1.7m. i lose height with my nute res. i'm a medi user. scrogging in there with a hps doesn't appeal as i want fast harvests, not vegging to fill a scrog net for weeks.

i was not dissing ur plants my friend, so do not misunderstand me, i was just pointing out the only thing stopping ur plants from reaching full potential is the type of lights u are using, however u appear to know this already so fair do's uv made the most of ur grow room setup.

fair play mate. you'll like this news then mate

i'm getting an interchangable 400 watter in 2 weeks-ish. sodium AND halide. fucking quality

needless to say, i'm happy about it, as i'll be able to give them a blast with it for a minimum of 2 weeks b4 harvest. they're fattening up really nicely, and will be 5 weeks into 12/12 on thursday. pics to follow

i have a dual spectrum 400w grolux lamp at the minute, pretty similar to your future unit and it works a dream, youll be impressed with the difference it makes in flowering. currently i keep my fresh cuttings, seedlings and first 2 weeks of vegetive growth under my envirlites (2x blue 1x red spectrum) then i move them to my hydroponic system and give them another 1-2 weeks of vegetive growth under my dual spectrum before flowering under that unit. your buds will triple in size i guarentee you. youll find that you can grow your plants as tall as required (within reason) with a hps because of its penetrating light. this will stop your stretching problems and keep those internodes tight essentially meaning your 4.5ft plant will now have double the branching, therefore double the bud!
all in all, fucking great news.
