I suppose this isn't really deserving of its own topic, but I figured it'd get lost and not replied to in the Random Topic.

Every so often, I'll see a group of teenagers, like, 14-17 years old, and most times one or more of them are yelling something like, "BLAP!" or "B-D-D-D-D-AP!" or something weird like that. I've heard it more than once and from different groups of kids. And they don't yell it once and be done with it, they do it over, and over, and fucking OVER again. It's annoying as shit and I can't figure out what it's supposed to represent? Do they think they sound cool or tough or something?

Can anyone explain this to an old fart like me? Can I go up to the offending party and slap them across the face?

Oh, and the kids doing it are always white...but it sounds like a Rasta or Black thing.

Heh heh, thanks for replying Sprite and Abby! Yes, Abby, I think it is BRAP. I was out for a walk today and heard it from a group of 4 teenage guys walking behind me. I never turned around to look at them, but I was wearing a Megadeth T Shirt and they were most likely pointing their index finger and thumb in a gun gesture behind my back.

A new law should be enforced that anyone other than a famous rap star blatting this from their mouths should be ridiculed and beaten within an inch of their lives.

yeah it's a rasta thing, originally made so popular by grime and hip hop artists. Nowadays it is used for anything from onomatopoeia for a semi-automatic weapon, to a sound made when someone spits a sick line in a freestyle.

Truth be told whenever a friend tells me about a situation when someone got slapped or hit and they use a "BLAP" or a "BAP!" exclaimation it makes me laugh like a crazy person. More than once is just over doing it tho...

if this was around when i was in actual highschool i would probably get kicked out for aggressive behavior..
