That's awful my dear mine is a little different though.

While before I left for my trip, I was having a lot of trouble with my parents...but I went away for 5 days and came back to things a lot calmer, an easing of tension.

But I told my puppy (our 13 year old shepard) to be here when I got back. I came home, went to her doghouse andpet her, said hello, gave her a cookie and then came inside to unpack.

half an hour later she was laying on the deck not breathing

She was my mom's dog, really. Shep would tear out the throat of anyone who hurt us....but if we turned on mom, she would tear OUR throats out in a second.

Plus, we got shep from my uncle Jack very shortly before Jack comitted suicide, Shep was kind of my dad's tie to his brother and so he's very shaken up. ( which of course rocks me a lot because my dad doesn't get that way and if he can't handle it, I can't handle it)

I'm hungry and I have toast done in the toaster oven but I can't bring myself to leave my room again. ><

I'm really sorry for you, but you shouldnt private yourself cause of this, i won't give the 'YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE' 10 line 'deja-vu' monologue, i know it's impossible.
So take it like it comes and try to entertain yourself as much as you can.

I feel really guilty because all the five days I was away I kept saying I missed my cat, I kind of forgot about Shep... But she was a good girl to wait. Cairo hasn't let me be alone since I got home...so that helps. She follows me around the house.

Well, if shep had a good life, and a sweet death(like, not bumped by a car(memories to mesmy), we could say this dog had a great life, that is something really important to consider.

Oh yes...She got to battle bears, sneak onto my bed, go for walks with my best friend's dog mayday ( we were convinced they were in love) and band together with Mister (who passed away in august) against the evils of a new cat (Cairo) So, a good life certainly. Shep really turned for the worst when Mister died. People always say cats get depressed missing a sibling ( I watched Cairo closely) but it appears as if Shep was the one to miss him. I guess they're chillaxin in pet heaven or something.
