How come I cant get high?

My names Nick and I've tried weed 6 times in the last 5 weeks and I just cant seem to get high. I'm positive I wasnt given fake weed and I've smoked as much as 3 or 4 bowls at a time. I've smoked through a joint and through a pipe. I'm on two medications Zoloft (SSRI) and Risperdal (Risperidone) and I dont think either are supposed to have a negative effect towards getting high. I'm really upset its not working for me it seems to work for everyone else around me that tries it. Is it possible I just cannot get high? The only effect I've felt is dry tongue and loss of apetite. I would appreciate any help, thank you!

Its possible you could have a natural immunity. I've never heard of that but who knows?

It sounds like you have OCD or something from your meds. Any mental conditions that would stop it? Cause my bro has OCD and depression and hes on meds and weed works for him.

its probably those two drugs.
Zoloft is an anti-d which also suppresses binge eating habits (basicaly destroying all feeling of munchies)
and Risperdal is an anti-psycotic med, designed to combat any type of psycological change, and if i had to guess i wud say this is what is ruining ur high, i cant prove any of this, i not a doctor or anything, but i have done a little studying on medical drugs, go n wikipedia it shud tell u more about these drugs

anyways, smoke more, make sure your actually inhaling, make sure its pot, and make sure its enough

Any tolerance people have against getting high is purely mental, there is no such research to prove any form physical immunity to weed. If anyone has come across any research that proves me wrong feel free to share it with me, I enjoy learning new stuff bout my favourite subject, but I doubt it cos I ain't found any myself.

Defo make sure your inhaling it properly, and check it is actually weed n not a bag of basil or summat harsh, like Hashpipe mentioned. You will get high, anything with lungs could get high, maybe your just not noticing it, alot of people see it in the media where it is portrayed as a much more mind-bending drug where u hallucinate and see everything in happy-land vision, but infact the effects on your senses and ability to function are actually very subtle. Maybe you have overlooked it's effects because of the pre-conceptions you had been given?

So you're saying that, if you smoke regularly, with time your tolerance doesnt go up?

A lot of people complain about tolerance going up, it's hard to believe that it's all mental. At the same time I've read alot of articles about weed and I've never seen anything about tolerance. Interesting thought though, tolerance to weed is something mental just like addiction to weed.

Thanks guys. Yeah I have OCD thats why im on Zoloft and Tourrettes syndrome thats why im on Risperdal. I think Ill try skipping the meds for a few days because Im really desperate to get high. Theres a chance I may not be inhaling it correctly but how do I know if I am? It hurts my lungs and all. I probably just dont notice the effects because I'm expecting something far more. But I don't laugh more often or feel any different than I usually am which leads me to believe the weed didnt work. I am very sure this stuff is weed and I'm sure its high quality potent weed to because my friends all got noticeably high after 1 or 2 hits each.

Sometimes beginners don't get high their first few times around. Keep trying, if it doesn't happen for a very long time then maybe you're not inhaling it right...??

Took me quite a couple tries before I got high. I must have smoked around 10 times or so before I got successfully blazed.

Bucket! a big ass bucket, that'll teach u to inhale, u wont have a choice if ur friend forces ur head down (not to b mean or anything, but this is how me dad taught me to inhale n it works, lol) it hurts tho, but if that dont get u stoned then its either not weed or somehow its not working on u for whateva reason

Sorry to post on an old thread, but I also have tourettes syndrome and take resperidal. Anyway i thought I would post the answer to this. If you don't take ur meds 24 hours (maybe even 12 but not sure) before smoking, you WILL get high. if you take the like you normally do, you don't high. I figured this out after a while.
