I do it so I can at least stay in shape, I have lots of equipment at my house and I work out about twice a day every day for 45 minutes. It's too cold outside for me to go running or jogging or biking since it's winter now. If I'm angry then I'll do little reps of a really heavy weight for me. Even though my machine only goes to 110 lbs.

I lift because it is amazing to see your body morph in different ways. You can sculpt it however you want, and the results are always rewarding since you're the one in control. Now that may sound egotistical, but I don't lift to get girls (I'll be 19 in May and I still haven't had my first kiss yet) or to be "buff" or anything. I started lifting weights to improve my relative strength and vertical jump. Now I just love the way I feel after a hard workout, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with achieving a new personal maximum or goal. And as you said, to release pent up aggression. MAN, lifting is a great way to get rid of that. You end up less mad and a lot stronger, haha.scarf wrote:why do you lift weights?(aimed at everyone)
is it to release pent up aggression?
is it enjoyable?
to impress the opposite ... or same... sex??
for competition?
im just curious as to why so many people do weights?

Its good to be in shape and it is like a high for me in a weird way. Maxing out, breaking my own records, etc.. Also being a wrestler, if your are not built your body will go to shit real fast.

Deadlifts are my favorite workout, it's where I can move the most weight and it always leaves my back muscles feeling like they're popping out of my skin the next day. I use them to hit my back and I do stiff-leg ones for my hamstrings on leg days.

I usually try to work out my arms (biceps, triceps, forearms and things like that) once a day if I can. I'll work out my legs maybe once or twice a week at the most. I do ab exercises once or twice a week if I get bored. I'll work out on my chest area if I can.
I need to start working out the muscles on my back and other places I usually forget about.

I have a very simple schedule. It's low volume, high intensity, and has given me consistent results.
Monday: Full Squats, Weighted Wide-Grip Pullups (palms facing away), Rows (different kinds, I mix it up)
Tuesday: Deadlifts, Bench Press, Dumbbell Military Press
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Repeat Monday
Friday: Repeat Tuesday
Weekend: Rest
I hit every major muscle group in my body with just those six exercises. Triceps and biceps are worked wtih bench/pullups a lot, so I don't isolate those muscle groups. I also don't want popeye arms, though I can understand why many do.

i go crazy on the dumbells when im high i think its kinda dangerous though because i feel like i can go forever, the feeling in my arms feels good when i lift. when i use to be really into making my punches stronger i would work my biceps witha 15lb dumbell 70 reps in each arm, then i would turn my hand to the side and work my triceps and do 70 rps in each arm then take out the 30lb dumbell and hold it with both hands and put it behind my back from above and lift up and down about 50 times then i would do pushups untill i cant anymore and then i would work my abs with bicycle crunches but eventually get lazy and end up doing only a few crunches... i hate doing crunches. i need to find out a way of working my shoulders without going to a gym, anybody know anything? btw im 170 lbs and 6 feet tall n skinny
my ni gga lets get PODed reefer and blunts is all thats needed
