I missed the fuck out of you all... and I suspect a plethora of new members haven't the slightest who I am. This, we can work our way around, I'm sure.
Greatest apologies for my lack of presence, the army has, in actuality, drained a significant portion of my time. But now I think it's about that time to settle down, and return to my international home of sorts. (Although I am slightly miffed at my reduced post count. I wore that number like a badge of honour, considering this is the first forum I ever stayed with and grew to know the members on a semi-personal note, at least.)
Regardless, good evening all, and I hope to see all my old friends around and about soon enough

Well, a novella-length recap sounds the most appropriate, yes. I've work to get to in half an hour, however, once I'm knocked off I'll sit down with a few cold ones and detail my absence.
I've been very busy, yes.
Oh, and, I don't suppose it would be possible to give my post count a little nudge back up to where it was, internally? I get disheartened at the thought of starting all over again
[Edit] And why won't my signature work, haha. I miss my birds.

Ahhh Landoooo. Welcome back man.
The post count thing is very depressing. Good idea with the "internally" increasing post count idea..but honestly I don't think it can be done. If it can be done.....I don't think it should be. Since all the old posts were deleted we should refill the forums with new awesomeness...that's just my two cents.
Rougly around my original time of absence from the community would be about a year ago, when I first made the decision to leave my regular, dead-end, fucked up small town life and join the army. After 3 months of basic training and extremely limited communications, I was sent to the Defence Force School of Signals, in Melbourne, Australia. I loved Melbourne, more than any other place i've vised since or after. I mean, the culture, the clubs, the people, the public transport, the cafe's in the alleys of alleyways, hidden from the tourists. Love.
Anyway, I went through 9 months of intense Information Systems Technician training, in which I had on average, 3-4 hour long exams a week. That didn't stop me and my best mates, Mills and Dowdeswell, from going out and getting messy most every night until roughly an hour or two until we were required to turn up for work, Shaved, showered, dressed, ready for that days exam, and kind of importantly, SOBER. Regardless, I managed to pass all of my exams, and was spat out of Training Command into the wider army, into a Unit, 1st Signals Regiment, in Enoggera, Brisbane. A lot warmer, relaxed, and boring compared to Melbourne, and even though it was only my home for under a year, I still get homesick.
Anyway, I lost contact with the majority of my course that I trained with in Melbourne, and I've been drifting away at an ever fucking alarming rate with my best friend and pseudo-girlfriend, Wynnie. But hey, thats just the way the world is. And just before I left Melbourne, my apparent best friend, Dowdeswell, did something no mate should ever. Fucking. Do. In secret, he and Wynnie had been dating and fucking for the better part of 2 months, and dear readers, there isn't much anything that infuriates me beyond reprieve, and one of those things is being made to look like a fool. And did they both manage to do that publicly, in front of all those that I respect and gained trust with? Yes.
I still obviously talk to the girl Wynnie, due to our dark pasts together, but I'll be torn apart in hell if I ever forget what she did to me, and he also.
I digress.
It's taken roughly two months to become established at my new unit here at 1SIG, and I've made a few basic friendships and acquaintances. Nothing as close as those in which I've had to live, sleep, work, go out, drink, socialise, and breathe on top of with, but it's a start, dear readers. I'm still pretty lonely, I drink a hell of a lot more than I ever did, and I'm starting to show signs of inherent self-destruction, but I really don't mind.
Because in my time with the army, the good times have vastly outweighed the bad. Getting into barfights and knowing your mates have got your back, and you theirs, long, 48 hour hilarious drinking binges, stealing a megaphone from a university (college) spokesman, on campus, getting on acid together, nights out, the beautiful grunge of Melbourne, the things I've done than no ordinary Australian has the oppurtunity to do, a renewed sense of pride on ANZAC day, the ability to shuffle, a sense of styloe, the list goes on and on and on.
So ladies and gentlemen, feel free to ask questions. (And please do try to refrain from the army specific questions, If needed I'll open another thread relevant to those particularly geared enquiries)

Unfortunately not brah, my ability to write has either lain dormant to sleep for a period of time, or I didn't hold on to it firmly enough, and my basic ability to write anything at all has evaporated and blown away.
HOWEVER, with that in mind, I've still a fair amount to type up and add to Endsville that I wrote during my spare time in basic training, I really ought to sort my shit out and get on board that train.

Glad to hear your okay man, I kinda thought they would keep you guys together out of training camp but then again being thrown into new units keeps you aware I guess.
Hope you'll have some time off soon to shoot the shit on here, and I hope you don't get shipped out !
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.
