A few first-time questions...

Hey, I'm not a big pothead, this has been a recently development over the last 2 months actually. Anyway, I was thinking about making a homemade bowl, but the only thing I could find was alumnium foil, in which I heard gave off toxins that can kill you. Therefore, I have a few questions about bongs/bowls...

Firstly, what is the best material to make a bowl with?

I've never used or even seen a bong in real life, so can someone explain how it works?

Also, what is the difference between a gravity bong and a regular bong?

Finally, has anyone ever ordered bongs/bowls online? I was thinking about ordering one, but my parents would kill me if a package came in saying "Weed R' Us" or something like that, although they never actually open my packages...

I'm not sure about making bowls. But I have ordered smoking accesories through the mail and all have come in unmarked packages. The only thing is since you mentioned your parents, I assume that means you are under 18 and all the packages I have gotten have required an adult signature on delivery. That being said, if your parents aren't the nosey type, you might not have a problem, or if you look old enough you could probably sign if you are there when they come. I doubt the delivery guy will actually check your ID. Why not go to a local headshop and purchase something..oh yeah..probably not 18..well hopefully you will work something out..otherwise just roll it up until you get your hands on some other smoking devices.

*By the way, the way I understand it, in a bong the smoke filters through the water (ideally cold water) before going into your lungs which creates a smoother hit. I think there are a few posts on here about making homemade bongs.

I have to use Aluminum as my filter also, but ive been thinking about buying those things that people use in the kitchen. The thing that you put flour in, and it goes through the mesh wire thing to give it air or something. Anyway, the foil doesnt seem to give off anything unless you hold the flame on it for a few seconds, but im sure its still not safe.

you can buy screens at a cigar shop fools haha
or use the filter in a sink the lil thing in the fossit.

screens are like 50 cent for 30 of em..

I guess you could do that, but its kinda hard to find places like that where I live. I live in Alabama, this state is too unevolved, and unsophisticated to have such stores.
