-> Sure he does, possibly because that's the only thing he's good at. Maybe watch-making was passed on to him from his father, maybe he needs to work in a watch shop to pay his bills.
Yeah, Maybe. That's not the point though. Your being to literal. The point was the watch is a very complex piece of work that takes precise instruments and steady hands, let alone the know how to put it together. Not just anyone could do that. "Maybe" he was the first person to ever make this watch "Maybe" he made all the parts from scratch. "Maybe" He was the first in his family to make these wonderfully crafted watches. People can copy his work, but he was the first. It all had to start somewhere though.
-> Of course nothing happens. Hand-made watches needs hands to make or remake them. They don't put themselves back together.
Exactly my point. It dosen't just happen.
I'm not quite grasping the logic of how broken watches remainging broke relates to divine existance.
Because just like life starting on this planet, it didn't just happen on its own. It had to be started by someone. For some, this explains the exsitance of God.
-> I'm confused, why would there be a space shuttle in a trailer park in the first place?
Therioes on evolution say that life started Billions and Billions of years ago in a puddle of mud. But how?! Some say the right amounts of chemicals and the right tempature and lots of waiting... Take the Frankenstien model, it took lightning to start Frankenstiens monster to wake up. Just the same:
A tornado ripping through a trailer park causes destruction, It dosen't create something as large and complex as the space shuttle.
-> So that immediately proves there is a God?
No it dosen't immediatley prove there is a God. Thats why its called a theory.
Maybe human science simply cannot grasp the hows and whens and whys of the origin of the universe yet.
Maybe human science simply cannot grasp the concept of a Creator and instead tries to explain it with guesses.
Don't forget, 200 years ago, we didn't have television, radio, cars, computers and just about every other piece of modern comfort and technology. Science is still pretty damn limited.
Along with the wheel, our solar system, argriculture, ink, print press, art, philosophy, economics, ceral, bread, the sword, shoes, etc. Whats your point?
People have been trying to prove Creationism wrong since Egyptian times and it still can not be disproven nor proven, along with Chaotic Chance neither being proven nor disproven.
-> And how exactly did Sir Fred Hoyle calculate the possibility of evolution? Moreso, how can ANYONE do that? Is there perhaps a mathematical equasion for evolution?
No clue. The following was taken from
http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs2003/0626origin.asp
The late Sir Fred Hoyle, who coined the term big bang (in ridicule), has recently concluded that the origin of life by chance is an absurd idea. In his book Evolution From Space, Hoyle insists that it is obvious that the complexity of life demands an intelligent designer, possibly even (heaven forbid!) God. According to Hoyle: ‘Once we see, however, that the probability of life originating at random is so utterly minuscule as to make it absurd, it becomes sensible to think that the favorable properties of physics on which life depends are in every respect deliberate ... . It is therefore almost inevitable that our own measure of intelligence must reflect ... higher intelligences ... even to the limit of God ... such a theory is so obvious that one wonders why it is not widely accepted as being self-evident.’ In an address at Cal Tech, Hoyle said that no amount of time now being considered by evolutionists is even remotely adequate to accomplish the formation of a higher living organism by chance. Such an event, he said, would be comparable to the chance that ‘a tornado sweeping through a junk-yard might assemble a Boeing 747 from materials therein.’
I'm not sure how he came to that conclusion, all I know is he did.
-> That is something I have to agree on, if there actually is a "God", I doubt he's an old man with a grey beard ruling from his throne in the sky, as most christians tend to believe.
I don't know what he is. Your probably right, he probably dosen't look like Santa Clause or Father Time on a big throne in the sky. Once again, something like that is too hard to grasp, and not really worth it.
-> That's the easy way out. Saying "People that don't believe in God just don't didn't let him into their hearts yet." Is just as dumb as saying "There is gold in my back yard, I just haven't found it yet."
Before I became a Christian, I didn't understand that whole letting him into your heart stuff either. Later I learned its just a term used to try to explain what it means to have the Lord walking with you, leading you and guiding you. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and accepting it.
And its not an easy way out. The easy way out is agreeing with everyone else and saying there isn't a God. I'm being persecuted now because for my beliefs. It's not easy an easy way out. (And besides, its not that you didn't find the gold yet, its that you didn't try to look yet.)
My dad once said to me: "Daniel, you can argue with someone until your both blue in the face. It won't change their opinion."
And again, I'll end this with what I said before: It's all about choice (freewill). You have the choice to accept one theory or the other.
