I don't doubt that there is a God, but I still consider myself agnostic because I don't believe most of the stuff in Catholicism, which my parents force me to believe in. I try to tell them I don't consider myself a catholic, but they drag me to church, anyway.

Great, Christian-bashing tweakers!

To debate: There absolutely IS a God. You have a Creator who is very much a part of your life, and you're going to feel awfully stupid when it comes time to review how you lived it, rejecting his love. All the signs are all around you. It's okay if you don't believe in God, or pursue any one of the spiritual and religious paths that all lead to the same place, because we will all be there when we die. And you will see that things didn't just happen to you randomly, you were not random, you were a spark of God come to experience pain through incarnation. That's all life is. Experience - living a life - causes your soul to grow. And all of us here together, all these sparks of God interacting and creating and inventing and operating, the machine that is human society, is all coming to a head - and it doesn't have to be in our lifetimes for us to know it. There is a plan. You agreed to be part of it when you came here. You have amnesia.

I know God is just as real as this table. Realer.

I've experienced spiritual depravity and known what it's like to reject God. He didn't stop loving me, and he didn't stop testing me. He knew what I wanted to do in this life, we discussed it prior to my arrival. And even when I didn't believe, and made my own horrible immoral choices, he protected me, and provided for me.

And finally it all came down to a day in my life that was worse than any other, a day my choices brought me. And I lost something precious. I made a promise to God that day that I would turn my life around, a solid oath. In return I want back what I lost, so precious to me. I have kept my promise, stopped consuming evil, lustful things that were consuming me and would have killed me, shamefully. I'm still waiting for my precious. All these years later, stripped of people even more precious, I'm still waiting. I will wait until I die - this pact I made with God was spiritual, and I have faith he will come through on his own time. Because I couldn't have done what I did on my own.

I feel that there must have been a horde of Angels and spirits around me, at least those first seven days, six months.... for six months after quitting I lived in a crack hotel. I saw it, it was in my face, in every hallway, in every room, in every pocket of every depraved addict there. As I left in the morning for school, I had to be escorted or who knows what the leering pimps would have done; I saw people smoking crack left and right as my own senses ached for the drug. I quit smoking crack and cigarettes on the same day, then I moved into a crack hotel full of cigarettes and applied myself to studies for six months. There is no way you can convince me I did this on my own. I prayed for God to help me every day - and I know he did. He put me there so I could see the violent people dying and going crazy around me. He gave me visions in nightmares of the things I wanted to do. Some kind of help from the other world was with me, I felt it every day, I'm telling you. Even my home was not free of alcohol cocaine crack and pills and cigarettes. I was in a sea of hard drugs and cigarettes breathing holy air and ganja smoke through a straw, I'm telling you. It was supernatural. I didn't get immediate gratification. I still haven't gotten anything for helping myself. Except an unshakable faith in God.

I have problems with the bible, too. God kills babies and sanctions incest in the OT. Fanciful story, but it's just that. A population controlling story, a people's history viewed through a crazy filter, I would even go so far as to say a direct misrepresentation of God on teh part of Hebrew priests and scholars to their own direct benefit. I have a hard time believing God said "Anyone not of the priestly class who eats of the sacrificial offerings shall die!" I means o much of the OT, all the rules and regulations are clearly manipulative ways for the church to monopolize power.

if god put me on the earth then i thank him, its not god i have a problem with, it is his loyal followers that make it their life mission to convert me. i am also very sceptical of people that dissect the bible and live by its every word and shun those who don't.

if there is a god he has given me the ability to make my own decisions and morals which i value very highly and i'll be buggered if i am going to listen to anybody that tells me that i am wrong and should live my life by their interpretation of an old book of stories.

i have not been brought up with religion in my life so i have never been caught up in it all but i think i lead a good life and will set a good example for my children when they come along....

If there is a god, I bet he's shaking his head in disbelief upon seeing his creation run amok.

Exactly, This is one of the main reasons i dont belive in god. I dontbelive shit would happen the way it does, People act like god has been there with them and thats why there still here, So what, does god not exist in the ghetto or some shit. Cuz people sure dont seem to last here...

There's a huge difference between believing in God and believeing in the Bible. The Bible is one culture's interpretation of God. That doesn't make it right.
