Ok so...

Me and a couple of friends are off to the great city of Amsterdam for a few nights over the new years holidays (Fuck Yeah!)

Can anyone recommend any good places?

Shops, Bars, Brothels, Cafe's etc.

Lol, during new years, everywhere's a party place. mind you, they tend to blow up a lot of fireworks, and drunken dutchies and fireworks is a bad combo.

Yes like funk said everywhere is gunna be good cause everyone will just be partying.What date are you away then? Are you actually gunna be there on new years eve?

you are gonna see lots and lots of fireworks, really really stoned... you wont need to go search a coffeeshop in central amsterdamn

At the moment im in the process of reserving a room at the Globe Hotel between the 30th and the 2nd. So yea I will be there on new years eve

Ah cool... How you getting there?

Ive found a hotel (£35 per night - oh yeah!) but im still looking for transport.

Cheapest ive found is £80 or something, Easyjet from London but it means i have to make my way to London.

Dont book a hotel in advance. When ya get there go to an information kiosk and say to them how much you want to spend on a hotel and how long you wanna stay their for and they'll sort it out there and then. Normally works but maybe I dont suggest it if your going for the cannabis cup (Tweedle) or new years (old school).

Im going the week after the CC and my mum is paying for it so I dont care. Im flying on KLM from Aberdeen airport and Old School you shouldnt be paying that much. Go 2 www.hotelthecrown.com they charge €35 which is like £22 and its in the heart of the redlight.

No fucking way dude, I'm going up there on December 30th, my flight is booked for 5:30 AM. We definitely gotta meet up somewhere and stroll down the red light district gettin ridiculously fucked up together!

Thats the hotel im staying at.

The main turnoff at the crown is no smoking in the rooms... I dont particularily wanna sit around outside in the cold smoking a J. Id rather it be in my warm room, with some nice food, with some good tunes... you know the rest
