4:20

Post by jamo »

So, whats has this set of numbers got to do with weed? Ive seen it in a lot of places, the website, on a few videos, in descriptions of smoking items.
Somebody mind describing why it is what it is?

well 4/20 is hitlers bday and the day of the colombine shootings

ive heard that its a police code but thats not true

I heard an extensive story about it being related to an irish gang in NY that would smoke at 4:20 everyday(makes the most sense to me)

My opinion is that smoker or not alot of people tend to look at the clock right at 4:20. countless times i have checked the clock at random when its 4:20. Others have told me the same thing. weed tends to be a pretty random thing that leads to very random situations. i think 4:20 is just a random number, but either way its my favorite holiday.

human brain makes lots of weird connexions. When I go bedtanning, most of the time I can countback 3-2-1 until it automatically stops (after 15 min usually), or for example as a kid if you wake up everyday at the same time, you can wake up the minute before your alarm starts, that's just body timer.
If you are used to smoke, or want to smoke at a certain time you eventually end up watching the clock, like when you are in class for example, and then, you can't ;/.

Haha, me too, last night I was playing Prince of Persia, and the second I exited the game the clock turned to 4:20. It was a foresign, so I quickly lit up my pre-rolled J

That game kicks ass.

I always thought 4:20 was just a time some group of famous stoners use to smoke everyday.
Please forgive anything that does not make sense. I wonder what is effecting my mind?

So far the majority of you are incorrect.
420's origin IS known.
the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation.
So there ya go, someone's parents out there invented the term 4/20.
And remember this:
There are NOT 420 chemicals in Weed. It's about 315, the num. goes up or down depending on what you're smoking.
4/20 is NOT police code or Maryjane.
And that whole shit about Holland and 4/20 over there being "tea time" for smokers isn't true either.

I know my shit.
