Using a roach

I've never used a roach before, do i need to?
Also what does it do

a roach is just the end of a joint man... it's what you've got left after it gets to small to toke.... usually what the roach does is... it gets thrown into a bowl and smoked.

Depending on your geographical location and the type of slang used by potheads, the term "roach" has two different meanings:

1. The butt end of an extinguished joint. The roach is usually held with an alligator or roach clip while smoked as to not burn the fingertips. Or as Sweet 420 said, you can throw a roach in a bowl and smoke it. I prefer to mash the remaining weed out of the roach with my thumb and finger and deposit it into a bowl before smoking it.

2. Another term for roach is the cardboard/thick paper piece that is rolled up and shoved into one open end of the joint. This creates a more firm and generally rounded end of the joint to smoke. A roach also allows the marijuana smoke to easily pass through the mouth end of the joint and into your lungs.

You don't have to use a roach when you roll a joint. I always use a roach for the above mentioned reasons.

People don't use roaches around here, but I wish they did. Everytime I smoke a joint with someone I get bits of weed in my mouth.

I usually roll blunts though, I don't see why people smoke joints anyway.

If you roll/hit the joint right you don't have to worry about getting any weed in your mouth...
