Taking up pipe smoking again (with pics!)

So I've decided to start smoking my pipes again. Now let me specify, my tobacco pipes. It is a most delightful ritual to puff away on a pipe while browsing the internet, watching a movie, or reading. I'm proud of my little pipe collection too.



These pipes have never tasted the wonderful green herb. I keep them sitting out in my living room on display so I keep them legal.



any comments? thoughts? questions about the fine art?

fucking beautiful man, a wonderfull collection, Iv always wanted to buy a wooden pipe like that, but If I do, i will have to get a longstemed pipe(also known as a churchwarden), but yeah man, iv just always loved wooden pipes, just somthing about them.

I've always found that wooden pipes hit a lot harder for me, but those are some really cool pipes. You should dress up as sherlock holmes one day and walk around puffin on your pipe.

well spri7e, you (well, I) don't actually inhale when smoking tobacco out of a pipe. its just an aroma flavor thing.

and captain, my friend who taught me how to smoke pipes had several churchwardens. I never cared for them compared to the regular sized pipes.

cool man, cool. i always favored the churchwarden, the long stem sort of cools the smoke, and everytime, i imagine siting around with gandalf andd bilbo smoken a bit of the herb, but hey, to each his own.

I smoked for a little while..but now, just smelling cigarettes makes me ill. I can't do it

Yeah I bought a pipe like your third one (bottom pic) at an antique store. Puffin away with that is fun. Actually, the first time I smoked the good herb was out of that pipe. I filled the bowl all the way up because I didn't really know how much to put in, so there were several grams in there and it was my second time with the weed. It was one hell of a trip!

Several grams? Now I have a glass pipe and I'm not sure how much bigger the bowls on those tobacco pipes are, but there's no way you fit several grams in there. My bowl holds about a quarter of a gram, maybe half a gram if I really really pack it, but a g would not fit in there, let alone several.

I've never smoked pipe tobacco but I would imagine it is the most enjoyable way to smoke, too bad it's the least healthy.

Tobacco bowls are HUGE. If you grind up your herb you could easily fit close to a g in there if not more.

I have some wonderful vanilla flavored tobacco that my wife likes the smell of more than incense. Basically what I'm saying is a lot of pipe tobacco is completely different than cigarette tobacco.
