July 4th

Post by Ikku »

So to the few of you out there that are from the US, how are you going to/how did you spend your independence day?

Normally I like drinking, grilling, and blowing shit up or going downtown to watch the fireworks display. But due to excessive drought we're in a burn ban right now, even the downtown fireworks show got canceled. First time in 35 years or something like that. :(
I personally recommend checking oneself for OCD at least once every 5 minutes.

since canada day was on july 1st and no canadians made a topic ill say what i did to celebrate here, since they are pretty much the exact same holiday.

went to a friend from works bbq in the early afternoon, started drinking with all of her family and was totally wasted by the early evening.
sean and i ended up getting in our first argument while drunk after a car ran over his phone and he took it out on me. i tweaked cause that behaviour is unacceptable and we left the party to bike back to my house. this was around 8pm maybe...the next 2 hours were us talking, crying drunkenly and apologizing to each other for being jerks.
but because we stopped drinking when we left the party i was hungover before going to bed. spent the better part of the early morning puking my guts out. i had to puke so frequently i couldnt sleep in my own bed. the bathroom is like in the farthest corner of the house from my bedroom, down a long hall way, a flight of stairs and down another hallway. so i slept on the couch while sean had my single bed to himself. 7 am he came and brought me to my own bed where i napped for a few more hours before i left for a very hungover day of work.

Damn, sounds like it started so well too.

Me and my brother grilled some burgers and drank a couple of beers. That's it. Hopefully someone else breaks the law and I can see their fireworks from my balcony, not going to risk it personally.

That is so bogus! Fireworks and bbq are the only two things I really enjoy about the holiday...seeing as that America is stolen land and such...I don't get into the whole "AMERICAAA DAA BEAUTIFUL" crap.

I worked in the afternoon, ate dinner with family than came home. On the 3rd my boyfriend and I went down by the river (along with what seemed like the entire town) to watch the various firework shows going on around the area. We brought my red, green and yellow potleaf blanket to sit on, which I found hilarous. We did the whole stereotypical make out under the fireworks, than came home before traffic got bad.
